Gateway Pundit creates petition to GET Chris Wallace

Gateway Pundit is one of the few consistently Right of Center media outlets in the United States since both Fox News and -- apparently -- The Drudge Report have progressively (ha!) been dipping their toes into the ideologically filthy waters of the Political Left for at least the last couple of years. So Gateway Pundit declares that 'Enough is Enough' and asks its readership to sign a petition to boycott Trump-hater Chris Wallace and Fox News Sunday . . . a petition which Gateway Pundit will then send to the Fox News board of directors.

Now about two months ago the liberal son of conservative Murdock was ousted from control of Fox News. But as of yet there are no obvious signs that Fox is returning to its conservative roots. Certainly sending KNOWN Trump-hater Chris Wallace to be the blatantly Joe Biden helper for the first presidential debate was being anything BUT . . . fair and balanced. But . . . meh. Fox News already knows that it is in existence only because of conservative viewer support and that conservatives will put up with only so much before THEY declare that "Enough is enough" all on their own. I am not sure that Gateway Pundit's 'contribution' is going to make much difference. Fox News is going to do whatever Fox News is going to do . . . and ditto for its conservative minder viewers.

Still it is an interesting development.

Did the mental midgets at Gateway Pundit MISS the fact that what Wallace did actually resulted in the white supremacist Proud Boys gang RAISING money off their EXPOSURE?

Too bad that We the People are NOT going to get the chance to ASK the same question of your wannabe Fascist-in-Chief IN PERSON at the Town Hall Debate instead.

That would be well worth watching IMO.

The Gateway Pundit is an extreme right news and opinion website that is not afraid of conspiracy theories and the occasional publication of falsehoods (see analysis). The website was founded by Jim Hoft in 2004 to “speak the truth” and to “expose the wickedness of the left.”

According to their about page “The Gateway Pundit is one of the top political websites. It is consistently ranked as one of the top political blogs in the nation. In all fairness, no, but what's interesting to me is the hypocrisy of a so-called conservative voice. This isn't a little sly (or slimy) wiggle-room; it's straight up theft. GP is stealing the left's idea. Thievery isn't a conservative principle. Lol. Sarcasm aside, either you support or oppose cancel culture. You can't do both and claim to espouse principled values.

 

So vast numbers of the collective Left supports month after month of looting, rioting, arson, mugging and murdering by radical leftists -- encouraged and made possible BY Dem Party governors and mayors keeping Trump from putting a stop to it -- because they do not DEMAND that those Dem Party governors and mayors put a stop to it? Hypocrisy on such a scale regarding any issue disqualifies any group from claiming a principled position. Which side they are on, if any, is irrelevant. There's plenty to go around, but this particular case is blatant.

DaveBN was right. You're derailing your own thread. We disagree on what we each find interesting about the article, but get back to your point. Myself, Fox News is laughing at Jim Hoft. I don't think Hoft will succeed in making Fox blink an eyelash.

 

If slimey Wallace hadn't tried to tie militias in with WS's, there wouldn't have been a problem. Wallace was trying to set a word trap for Trump because he's a biased moderator.

It depends since Fox News did oust the liberal son of Murdock from direct control. But mostly I agree with you. If Fox News actually gives a damn then it will return to a more conservative perspective in general with or without Hoft's interference. But it remains an interesting ideological shot across the bow.

 

That's certainly possible, but it depends on a lot of things. It assumes the GP audience is a subset of Fox's more diverse audience, and that subset is significant viewership. All of that may be true, but I don't know one way or the other.

The Trump years have seen MSNBC move toward the center, even hiring conservative contributors. Fox has done the same, albeit a little late.

 

Never ceases to amaze me how quickly and easily those on the right will turn against their own and throw them under the bus in cultish support of their wannabe Fascist-in-Chief.
