Then again, maybe you won't. You know the old saying about leading a horse to water--can't make the SOB drink.

Sad thing is that it has been tested. Sex reassignment surgery shows no improvement to the mental health of the patients. They are just as likely to commit suicide, with or without sex reassignment surgery.

Teaching kids that boys have a penis and women have periods, isn't teaching to stigmatize or hate anyone.

Do you ever have anything other than strawman arguments?

    It doesn’t seem like it.

Strawman? Really? What are they doing with the missing X or the extra X chromosome. Ignoring reality?

    What determines gender in humans?
In human beings, sex is determined by genetic inheritance. Genes inherited from the parents determine whether an offspring will be a boy or a girl. Genes for all the characters are linearly arranged on chromosomes. These include the genes for sexual characters.

Here's the link, but I guess he must be a conservative enforcing his will of biology on us poor, gullible, suckers

Clever dodge. But doesn’t change the biology: XY is XY and XX is XX; you know, kinda like a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. Damn biology. Right?

Doesn't that render your posts pretty much meaningless then. What's the point in talking about what we think should happen if we don't consider how that can be legitimately achieved and, more significantly, if it can't be legitimately achieved, where the least worst alternative or compromise can be found. It's the difference between rant and debate.

I agree with that statement (to be fair, because I think you're misrepresenting the mainstream professional opinions) but even if I agreed with your point of principle, I still wouldn't agree with the statement in the OP. That is stating that doctors and teachers should ignore the law if they (or "The American College of Pediatricians") don't like it and if that applies in this case, it must apply in any other.

I don’t suggest, ever. I state purposely, clearly, and with full knowledge—it’s your interpretation of my posts that is in error.

Nuremberg: Following the law will not excuse you from judgment. Quite the contary: Morality requires you to act morally.

Honest, Joe, this is immoral. It psychological and physical abuse of a child; not because I say so; the facts do. Every moral human on the planet would be wise and prudent to be as outraged as me over an absurd monstrosity as this.

    Yup.

This is complete junk, and long ago debunked as grossly biased opinion rather than anything remotely scientific.

The linked article is also a year and a half old & doesn't belong in Latest News.

Wow, whats the world coming to. Just applied to get a copy of my Birth Certificate online. Long list of questions. One of which is "What sex do you want to appear on your certificate of birth" with a drop down choice of Male or Female. Crazy.

Yes because the best way to treat someone who thinks they're a dolphin is to toss them into the ocean.

The level of clarity and knowledge behind your statements is a matter of opinion.

Based on your individual morality or the social consensus? This is a long established philosophical question which goes way beyond this single issue and has never been definitively resolved (and probably never can be).

What is? I’ve not seen anything in this thread referring to anything that is actually happening or even proposed. The are policies and events in schools I’ve disagreed with in this area but I’m not going to make an all-or-nothing statement disavowing literally anything vaguely associated with the theme.

    What is???
Clearly: XY is male; XX is female--and wishing it wasn't won't change it
Clearly: To tell a child you can change your sex is evil because its irrational: No one can change their sex no matter how many lies they tell themselves
Clearly: To allow a child or a parent to change their child's sex is immoral: No one can change their sex no matter if every medical doctor in the world says you can; biological facts are facts.
Clearly: Reason and reality determine morality
Clearly: The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
Clearly: You are one confused sophist.
Clearly: Your vision is blurred. (You like Monet, don't you?)

Sorry, I foolishly presumed you might be interested in debate about the actual thread. I'll be leaving you to your rants.

That has nothing to do with gender studies so how am I dodging anything?

Genotype would be studied in biology or more in depth in genetics.

Gender studies is a field that deals in gender representation and identity in various legal, personal and public fields. A small portion also deals with race, religious attitudes and orientation and how it impacts self identification.

It has nothing to do with genotype. Gender is not sex. They are separate definitions.
