I've given some thought to that. Washington DC of course is problematic, since it's named from a notorious slave owner who also murdered peaceful indigenous people, so that will have to be renamed, but there is another issue: The District of Colombia is named for, you guessed it, Christopher Colombus, notorious genocidal monster. What's the point of renaming Washington unless you also rename, "DC?" Here is my suggestion: Rename the city King City, for MLK, and rename the District as the District of Black Lives Matter. Then it will be King City DBLM.

In Russia, peasants were not a Minority but the Majority. In Russia, Petrograd was renamed Leningrad after the 1917 Revolution. Cities named for tsars were renamed.

I don't know why you keep insisting that you're not European American. We've been over this in another thread and it's pretty clear you're wrong when you say that. And oddly enough, it has nothing to do with your argument.

Erasing history will have no effect on the culturally propagated prejudices ingrained in the minds people. I doubt that few people think about the modern interpretations and the character judgement leveled against the individuals for which from whose names were given to particular places. Nor, do I suspect, do people see any particular historic monument as some celebration or unifying call to endorse the lost causes of the past other than to note they were lost causes.
I am waiting for the call to directly punish those responsible for the injustices of the past, and advocate the digging up and burning of dead slave holder’s bodies... that should teach people that if you do bad things, punishment will pursue you on earth as well as by your divine judgement for your sins.
As for renaming Washington DC, I suggest the name, The Twilight Zone.

 

I support this. Lets rename Washington state to Martin Luther State. We should rename Washington D.C. to Lincoln City.
