The Georgia GOP state legislature passed a law in 2021 which was signed into law by the governor making it illegal to give food or drinks to voters waiting in line to vote. Now assuming a very hot ATLANTA, or some other Georgia location, on voting day a cold drink could be potentially lifesaving, yet they make dispensing it illegal. The same GOP think it is wrong for the government anywhere to mandate potentially life saving vaccines????

Simple, one discourages voting and one doesn't.

Only those who are severally misinformed or just regurgitate CNN tripe make that claim.
Nothing made it illegal in GA to give food or water to voters.
Any other fake claims you want to make?

And your so called vaccines, are so lifesaving after all. In fact, they aren't even vaccines. Just gene therapies.

    "
Holmes said a Georgia law has not "criminalized giving people bottles of water." It pertains to political organizations.

SB 202 makes it a crime for people — and not just people from political organizations — to hand out food or bottles of water within 150 feet of a polling place or 25 feet of any voter standing in line."

The law, SB 202, states that "[n]o person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector ... on any day in which ballots are being cast."

The provision on food and water was included in an effort to prevent the solicitation of votes and electioneering, or influencing voters.

The law states that poll workers under the law could still bring water from a fountain, or bottles of water, to people in line.
    What else ya got

Right. Which was what the lie being debunked was advocating for. Except the fact check showed even if it was 'concerned' (and that's a strong word) with voter interference, it doesn't really allow for other groups to give water. Like voter advocacy groups. Which should be allowed to.

So, there is no such law that claims its illegal for voters to have water or for the poll workers to provide water.
Its illegal for 3rd parties to offer gifts to get votes that includes water.
    Glad we cleared that up

So what you're saying is your strawman still stands? Because nobody was denying they can't have water. It was whether or not they could be given is the operative problem.

Strawman? Providing you with the exact wording of the bill is now a strawman?
How convenient for you that any information that disputes your claim are strawman arguments.
Which means you don't even know what a strawman argument is. lol

Then you didn't even read the very OP you are posting in. Did you.

You kinda missed the word 'give' didn't you?

Now let's look at what you said:

"So, there is no such law that claims its illegal for voters to have water or for the poll workers to provide water."

Now I'm operating under the assumption that to 'have' in this case is the primary strawman. Because the OP clearly says 'give'. Having is not the same as give. Now you could say that poll workers will provide water (as in give), but as I already fact checked:

"The only kernel of truth is that the law has a sentence which allows poll workers to make available "self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote." But just because poll workers can make self-service water available, doesn’t mean they are required to come up with a way to make water accessible to voters in every line at every polling site."
    https://www.politifact.com/factchec...about-georgias-ban-food-water-giveaways-vote/

    So in other words, strawman.

More fake post to cover the first one. lol
If poll workers can GIVE water to voters, then it isn't illegal to GIVE water to voters as the OP tried to claim.

Claiming this lifesaving fluid is now illegal to even dispense to voters. Which is isn't
None of your play on words or strawman claims changes what the false OP claimed.

The law only provides that 3rd parties can't give water to voters as gifts to get votes.
I realize for the left, common English is now a problem and they can't figure out the difference between 3rd parties, voters, and poll workers but for everyone else with a basic high school education, its pretty clear.

Additionally, if the left couldn't figure out a way to twist common English, they wouldn't be able to claim this idiocy.

What is the point of comparing apples and oranges? These two things have nothing to do with each other. Thinking people would agree that both of these activities are bad things.

I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods but anyplace I have ever voted in the poll workers do not see you standing in line to vote UNTIL you enter the building ,never when you're in quarter mile long line out in the sun.

It specifically states that they can't give water to those people in line. It states that those in line can walk away from the line to a water fountain and then chaos will ensue with claims of queue cutting in

Aren't voter advocacy groups about getting people out to vote? Why would they need to do such a job in a line of people waiting to vote?

Btw, poll workers can give them water. So its false to say that no one can give them water.

Poll workers ARE ONLY INSIDE THE VOTING BUILDING NOT OUT IN THE PARKING LOT OR SIDEWALK.

I can see good points in either direction. I think it would be great if restricted to poll workers.

    Either way, nothing too bad.

In is very simple as it has been mentioned many times. It is to prevent someone trying to influence the voters under the pretext of providing food and water. It would be perfectly legal to give the food and water to the poll workers and let them distribute it. Alternatively, knowing that you are going to spend a long time in line, bring food and water with you.

    1. Already disputed that one because as Politifact pointed out, just because they can, doesn't mean they will. Moreso over it's assuming a certain level of hostility in having people just get ready to vote.
    2. Yes and one of the easiest ways to get people to vote? Give them free food for voting. Something that would be a great quick meal on the go would be even better.

Nor does it mean that they won't.

Also, what does this have to do with what I said?

They're already there in line to vote. No need to push them to vote if they're already there to vote.
