German minister calls american ambassador Grenell "Witzfigur" (laughable Clown)

American ambassador Grenell who basicly has become persona non grata in Germany for his repeated insults against Germany, propably went one step to far. Last week he said Germany doesnt meet its military spending of 2% GDP and suggested, that the american troops stationed in Germany should be moved to Poland.

This was propably meant as a way to push Germany with a threat but it appears it backfired.

Voices from german politicians rejectd this and dismissed it. But Hirte went one step further and called Grenell a "Witzfigur" which basicly can be translated as "laughable pathetic clown". He elaborated, that it would cost USA several billion € to move its Ramstein base to Poland.

I can not remember anytime before, that an ambassador was called a pathetic clown before.

I mean what you think...how is it for Grenell? He wants adoration from others. He appears like a petty small person. They say it hurts him alot to be shunned so much in Berlin.

Few days ago an internal order came public that told all government employee to simply ignore Grenell. Now few days later he is caleld a pathetic clown. I dont know

 

What's wrong with Ambassador Grenell's statement?

This is what he actually said:

“It is actually offensive to assume that the U.S. taxpayer must continue to pay to have 50,000-plus Americans in Germany, but the Germans get to spend their surplus on domestic programs,” Ambassador Richard Grenell told the German press agency dpa.

The embassy's official Twitter account Friday posted a similar statement. The U.S. envoy to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, on Thursday suggested relocating U.S. troops from Germany to Poland. Grenell told dpa that he agreed with her comments.

Again: why is it laughable to you and other Germans that America wants Germany to meet its military obligations?

You're going to ignore American ambassador? Pathetic little Germany knows not what it is doing.

 

Ambassador is there to interact with your foreign ministry and chancellor.
Whatever some other minister says is a nothingburger as his statement has absolutely no impact on anything. I doubt that the ambassador cares what a nobody thinks/says about him.

 

He does care, he was so pathetic to cry about not being invited by chancellor or ministers at public events.

The "nobody" actually is the underling of the foreign minister. So basicly it was said by the foreign minister through an underling.

 

Mr. Sobo desperately tries to engage Germany and the USA in a "fight" in numerous threads.

 

My friend - Ambassador Grenell serves at the pleasure of the President Trump; his main function is to deliver the messages from the President and to receive and deliver Germany's messages to the President of the United States. which is what he's doing.

My advice to the German Government and to the German people - do not **** with President Trump! Heed to it.

Already have. Calling the US Ambassador names is the same as calling the US President names, and Trump is known to return **** in-kind. And so he will.

Minimally, cut all aid, especially military aid.
Evacuate military presence in Germany.
And lose the economic benefits of being a host.

Time for Germany to understand they are as
significant as France, or the E.U. .
That translates to NOT significant!

Personnel who individually or as a unit spend money in Germany.
Plus the aid dollars Germany receives.

No IMF manipulations required.
Just loss of a big, consumer market.

Again which aid Dollars does Germany receive ?

53.000 Soldiers do not have that huge an economic impact, neglectable.
It would cost the US billions to replace those bases and the German infrastructure they depend on.

All that does not change that the Ambassador is a complete Idiot and considered as such. He plays wonderfully into the hands of folks like our Neo Nazi kid.
