Thank you - Some years ago I visited Bad Canntatt - (Robert Bosch Packaging ) - stayed 5 days - I'm afraid it was no pleasure - rush-rush -stress - - work-work - more stress . . I was wipped around Stuttgart so fast - when I opened my eyes - I was back in England . Perhaps , one day , I'll visit again and enjoy seeing your country in a more relaxed manner. cheers.
I'm not sure wether it is no stress to visit Bavaria. Besides spring, summer and autumn I love most winter and specially Christmas tide (6th of December to 6th of January) - what is for me the most stressfree time - although every work is much more difficult to do in this days. Last two years we had a wonderful snow everywhere. Was hard but nice. And be careful with alcohol. I guess the most people here are thinking the more beer tourists are drinking the more they are happy. But it is really no fun to awake drunken in an unknown hotel room (much to expensive in lots of cases) without orientation. And in case of alcohol and driving cars our police is without any grace to everyone - skthigh the yswr really very friendly under normal conditions. In the big cities (10000 inhabitants and more) is everywhere a tourist information. And don't be astonished that this what we are thinking what the english language is shows only that you don't know your own language very well. And don't think we love Germany or Germans. It's not the same as in Ireland - but your bad experiences about other german regions is welcome. We are often calling all other Germans "Prussians" - what means something like "We are only barbars and stupid born idiots - but they are even Prussians". Meanwhile the expresspon "Prussian" became more and more a joke, We are anyhow even in the minority in our own country. So if you would be a untypical Brit - Scott, Irish or something like this - maybe a worker in a coal mine or a singer of traditional songs or anything else than an arrogant rich dude then you could be even able to win the hearts of some bavarian people. @Marlowe I forgot - The only one true national anthem is from the year 1946 from Joseph Maria Lutz. All other versions - including the official version today - are only ignorant tryings from politicians to manipulate Bavarians not to try to become a separatistic state on its own. Most Ger,mans (=Prussians) don't have any feeling of identity any longer and tehy do not even know that the german nationals anthem is a bridge to the holy roman empire of german (="deutsch"='united') nations.
