Been there done that twice. I had Covid before we knew what was making us all sick. In Dec of 2019 the So Cal ER's and urgent care clinics were standing room only. I fought it off without being hospitalized but it was bad. I had one of the variants about 3 months ago, it was no worse than my every springtime allergies. Anti-bodies testing proved it was Covid. Now here the kicker, I am 64 years old, have very bad liver problems and stage 3 kidney failure. I had those problems in Dec of 2019. Breathing was difficult but not life threatening. I attribute that to never smoking. I still have had no vaccinations and here I am. This is why I won't.........It's like playing Russian roulette taking vaccines with no long term study's for side effects. My natural immunity is the way nature meant it to be.

i believe that it is a good faith representation of the best available data. some states (florida, texas, south dakota) may be reporting politicized data, but, for the most part, these are good people doing their jobs.

 

I had both shots, the booster, the flu shot then got COVID. I have throughout defended people's right to not get shots if they so choose. I personally think you take anything from the government, or even worse, Big Pharma, with a healthy dose of salt. The CDC shortening the quarantine from 10 to 5 days was about keeping Joe's economy going in the face of a massive waive of new cases, not the science of it all.

The science is clear and well established. Vaccinated people have a lower rate of hospitalization and death than unvaccinated. It is numbers, not emotions. Oddly you want to support the rare problems encountered with the vaccines instead of the actual science. Yes all of this has risk. But the risk is lower with vaccination. Sorry.

I don't believe them. A guy crashed his motorcycle and died shortly after in a hospital ED. He was listed as a Covid death. They make no differentiation between "dying WITH Covid" and "dying FROM Covid".

 

SIAP. This is misinformation. Don't get your boosters 'cause every time you get the booster you experimentally and permanently change your immune system via chemical means with zero studies of the effects of said multiple boosters. Besides, the boosters are designed to prevent great sickness for a variant of Covid which has already burned itself out, and if you're concerned about number of cases (which you shouldn't be), the boosters won't deter number of cases.

Lastly if you get the boosters, you won't let your natural immune system adapt to Covid and fight Covid and not letting your natural immune system adapt to Covid and fight Covid will cause Covid restrictions to be permanent restrictions as long as some dopes are concerned about number of cases.

 

Did you have to go to the hospital? That's what the vaccine prevents, having to go to the hospital (and dying). It doesn't keep you from getting COVID. It's not like some sort of force shield that keeps COVID microbes off your body entirely.

I would defend people's right not to get shots too IF they would (and could) refuse to go to a hospital if they got sick (with COVID), but they won't, and the hospitals won't let people just die anyway. As it is I find it terribly inconsiderate of people to refuse an easily available vaccine and then contribute to clogging up the hospitals we all need all the time, but what the hell, that's conservatism for you.

I agree that this is misinformation, it also makes no sense.

If a variant of COVID has "burned out" that just means it has infected most everyone it READILY can. You, however, might have been temporarily resistant, or more likely just lucky in not contracting it until now. It's still around and you can still get it, "burned out" doesn't mean it has ceased to exist.

Why couldn't it be that the vaccine just gives your immune system some "heads up" and enables it to fight off the bacteria on its own better? If it has never met COVID or any vaccine to it how will it build up resistance to something it doesn't "know" exists? (And I know the immune system doesn't "know" anything. It just fights off disease as best it can, it has to contract the disease first)
