Now I am not sure about this job placement, but anyway http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/former-prime-minister-julia-gillard-named-as-beyond-blue-chair-replacing-jeff-kennett-20170321-gv2r81.html Now I am wondering about the job Gillard took last year and will she have the time needed for this roll. Kennett consider it to be fine, I just wonder if others don't agree with the appointment. Personally, it doesn’t worry me, I am just interested to know why some would find this a concern…
Its a great choice. She will do a good job, possibly better than Kennett. I loudly applaud his work, but I've heard a few mutterings from within the sector that it might be time for him to move on. Its not a full time job, so time won't be an issue for her. Can't see any other issues. If people like me who lived through Kennett's destructive policies & profoundly despised the man can applaud his work on depression then any sad cases with lingering issues can suck it up about Gillard taking over. I know enough behind the scenes stuff about both to know whose personal interactions best suit an organisation with a 'caring' role. She will be great.
I don't know how well or not she will do in the job, but for a considerable amount of time she was a very good politician. Arguably a very poor leader but rather irrelevant to this issue. However, ignoring all the political complaints, The demands of the job is the only issue(time wise). I am not sure of what complaints of Kennet, but Gillard will do no worse as there is a considerable amount of above average achievers on the board should she drop the baton… I was just interested that media reported this appointment as a possible contentious issue of an appointment. Perhaps as there seems to be a culture in the previous leadership that gave the impression of a boys club, I don’t know. I just don’t see the issue reported, Gillard may bring more to the roll. The least she deserves is a chance and given that chance I do believe she will run with it…
