They're trying it on for size in the impeachment inquiry by repeating Russian propaganda

It's uninformed nonsense to try to argue that Ukraine is not a security issue for the US:

    https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/11/trump-ukraine-aid-javelins-obama.html

    From the link:

What has made a difference is the training, which has improved the quality of Ukrainian soldiers, and the radar, which has let the soldiers detect enemy movements. These goods and services were part of the “nonlethal” assistance that Obama supplied in 2014. Most of the Trump administration’s aid to Ukraine has been more of the same.

It was this year’s entire $391 million security assistance package—a few more Javelin missiles and money for radar, training, and so forth—that Trump withheld to pressure Volodymyr Zelensky into opening an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden. Trump released the money after the damning phone call was publicized. If he hadn’t, the Ukrainian army would have been hurt—and its Russian opponents would have been helped.

Would that matter to the security of the U.S. or its formal allies? Well, it would now. By providing lethal aid, Trump had upped the commitment to Ukraine. Dropping that commitment, especially for such craven reasons, would heighten the anxieties of all allies over the seriousness of any U.S. commitment—and embolden all adversaries. By treating America’s friends and allies so casually, Trump has made the continued defense of Ukraine more vital.

And the missiles are still sitting there not killing Russians.. not providing security

And everthing coming out of housr Democrats might as well be a fart.
That's how little value they have and how valuable democratic ideals are to society

So, having weaponry is not providing security because they're not currently killing people with that weaponry?

    *LOL*

    That's more terrible reasoning.

They provide security through "deterrence." Russian tanks don't want to go up against Javelin anti-tank weapons, which may be deployed to the front quickly in case of a Russian offensive. Keeping them away from the front avoids "accidents" or a Ukrainian offensive.

True...with the possible exception of 2016. But, it's not the Party of the past. You've substituted genuine conservatives such as Bill Kristol and George Will for hustlers like Hannity and Limbaugh.

Exactly. But our friend Robert thinks that weapons don't provide security unless you're actively killing people with them, which is very puzzling.

Hyper-partisan whining is futile - and a distraction from the zany Rudy show.

Giuliani has actually returned to the scene of the crime to make a nutty right-wing propaganda video, in cahoots with Andriy Telizhenko, the source of discredited, crackpot allegations that his country interfered with the 2016 U.S. election. Reportedly, Zelensky and other Ukrainian politicians are as eager to let him get close to them as if he were a highly contagious plague victim with acute halitosis and alopecia. Only the corrupt former prosecutor Shokin may be willing to collude with Rudy. (His teammates Lev "Moe" Parnas and Igor "Larry" Fruman were unable to accompany him in the caper, having had their passports seized.)

It's amusing to see the characters that proffer such a pathetic excuse:

Meanwhile, the scam continues to unravel:

AG William Barr told Trump that Rudy Giuliani has become a liability

Giuliani is doing something entrenched democrats fear, investigating their corruption. The problem for Joe Biden was when Shokin seized all of Burisma’s assets the Ukranian gas company could no longer pay his son Hunter Biden. So the vice president demanded Shokin be removed.

Trump's consiglieri's dirtbag accomplices, especially the indicted Lev "Leverage" Parnas, may be persuaded to sing concerning their "We need a 'favor' to slime Biden!" sordid caper that was exposed and led to Fake Don's impeachment.

Giuliani has smeared himself with raw, untreated Trumpery.

Many have had once respectable reputations befouled by being swept into Fake Don's fetid gravitational field, but few have been imbued with the stench as thoroughly as Reeking Rudy.

    Screen Shot 2019-12-13 at 8.29.57 AM.png
"We are two wild and crazy guys!"
Having finessed Trump's vicious attack upon America's embrace of religious freedom, he recast the sordid caper to pressure a foreign government to smear a political rival, an American citizen who still has no credible allegations of wrongdoing against him - no indictments, no trials, no convictions (despite the vast power of the investigative and law enforcement resources of Cry Baby Don) as a matter of "corruption" even as the disgraced Rudy conspired with the most corrupt of lowlifes himself.

The targeted Biden had adhered to US policy and that of the European Union, International Monetary Fund, and democratic reformers within Ukraine to dismiss a blatantly corrupt prosecutor, Shokin.

Mayor 9/12's plummet from respectability had begun with Trump's call for religious discrimination.
In the realm of Trumpery, Fake Don's political rivals are framed as dissolute, depraved dastards, despite no credible evidence against them by the Trump Justice Department, by Ukraine, by China (whom Fake Don publicly solicited.)

In the real world, Rudy's playmates in Fake Don's Ukraine shake-down have been indicted, real criminal investigations are being conducted into Rudy's squalid antics, and Fake Don's perfidy is being exposed despite his refusal to testify under oath, his gagging everyone he can who can provide inside information, and his concealing all relevant documents that have been subpoenaed.

LOL, Biden threatened Ukraine and Ukraine stopped investigating Burisma. Burisma then lobbied the US govt to take it off the list of corrupt companies. That is what the left is defending.

That's a load of horseshit, and the facts are easily located. But you keep on making **** up.

    1. That was official US foreign policy. Biden didn't magically come up with it.
    2. This was also the policy of every civilized nation on planet Earth. Every western power wanted Shokin removed. Were they protecting Biden?
    3. The reason that every civilized nation in the world wanted Shokin removed is because he was corrupt and was not doing anything to investigate companies like Burisma, not because he was doing so. You'd think that this would ooze into your consciousness at some point, because you've been told this 1000 times, and this fact is readily available online.
