    huh?

why in heavens name should the White House involve itself in how 3% of the population has sex??

Why do you BELIEVE that govt has any business at all in your bedroom?

Do you want mandates given to those who have gay sex?

I don't want them in my bedroom. Govt is already too large; we need less, not more.

Are you a part of NAMBLA? From what I hear, they don't deserve any real voice. (Sorry.)

but once you open the door for 1 special interest group based upon sexual acts then it's open for all of them.

GOVT is too darn large. Why would anyone want govt involved in the most private part of our lives?

Apart from allowing gay people to legally be cannon fodder, I think your president has turned his back on the GLBT adults that helped him get elected. What makes one think that his administration cares about queer youth?

I'm all for LGBT rights, but stay out of this kind of thing period- whether it concerns homosexual or heterosexual rights. Not only that, but come on- there's bigger problems the President needs to address first. I don't think this is at the top of his priority list.

Stop with the 'imaginary' slippery-slope hysteria; it's just paranoid foolishness.

Not really. But I would say that it sometimes exercises POWER in the wrong ways.

I think that government should ensure that the rights of individuals are MAXIMIZED to the highest degree reasonable and/or possible. Some want the rights of others impeded or taken BY government; that is an idea I will always oppose, by advocating what I believe is a government which exercises power in the proper ways.

#1- we shall always agree to disagree on this point. IMHO, you can't have govt get involved in how 2 consenting people have sex

#2- that is a dangerous attitude on your part. You can be complacent and yield liberties to the govt when it suits your agenda. What about when it doesn't?

    Most likely.

Your warped view of what I said, leads you to a conclusion which I did not suggest. Try being more reasonable.

not really. I can empathize (really I can) how your vision may not be 20-20 on the topic. Maybe I do see evil around every corner when it comes to the govt but every time I turn around, be it local, state or federal I see more mandates and less liberty.

No sir, keep out of our bedrooms.

Your view is 20/20? (Think about it.)

I've seen many more ridiculously-paranoid anti-gay folks, in my lifetime, than people who view homosexuality with open and reasonable minds. I think that stems from religion and various social traditions.

It will take time to change that.

If there is no crime to address/attend... I'm with you. Otherwise, no one should be out here advocating that homosexual people should possess fewer rights and privileges (under the law) than heterosexuals. If they do push for such, then I think it is absolutely correct to evoke government power, to ensure that all are treated EQUALLY under the law.

    again with the "gay marriage"

that is a slippery slope. The minute you get the govt involved in saying

OK, Jimmy has sex with Johnny so they can get married.

Jimmy has sex with Kristen and Emily but the 3 of them can't get married.

Uncle Ned has sex with nephew Joe but they can't get married

    where will it end?

Your agenda blinders prevent you from realizing that the ideal solution is for govt to get out of our bedrooms in entirey. Single people are treated like 2nd class citizens so they need 1 classification and that is US citizen.

You're giving in to unnecessary hysteria and paranoia.

If YOU want to 'slippery-slope' every darned legal decision ever made, you could spend your life doing it.

I'm not here to stop you; but your 'fears' won't stop people from seeking and attaining their reasonable rights.

INSURING the RIGHTS of those people who fit into a defined MINORITY of citizens, IS "a public policy issue".

again you totally avoided the topic of single people be they gay or straight.

Do you think it best if the govt just had 1 classification and that was US Citizen?

If you want to jointly own property, get a contract and do it.

If you want to live together, then do it but you each must file your own tax return

I'd rather that than creating new genders or races based upon sexual acts. You don't want to open that can of worms because it will get out of hand real quickly

now why is it that there is a need for an "advisor" or a "commission" or a "study" for every group - large, small or microscopic?

can't we just use some common sense and protect that civil rights of everyone and save the 500k that would be spent on yet a new White House advisor?

 seriously, that is exactly what the big government Obamabots would say!

As Rahm Emmanuel said, never let a crisis (?) go to waste, always find an excuse to grow government.
