What's foolish is that your desire for instant gratification prevents you from looking beyond present day. The slippery slope does not theoretically have to occur, but if you look at the context, it very likely will occur. And it will be future generations of the people on your side that will be pushing for it under the guise of needing to be more "progressive."

Is that what you think homosexuality is?

    You really should know better.

You are being both dramatic and hysterical. Your fears are your own to deal with.

You are not making good sense; sorry.

of course it will occur as long as we allow progressives to be in offcie.

it's not good enough to be a US Citizen or a male or female. Nope, we need to segregate with laser-like precision. First, we'll segregate and make a new group for those who engage in gay sex. Then, we'll need to segment even more for male/male and female/female. After that, we'll need another group for men who go through sex changes and then are lesbians.

After that, we'll focus on those who must have sex 3 times per day

The kind of discrimination you're promoting is reprehensible.

there is a reason that the "slippery slope" is a fallacy.

keep telling yourself that until it works against something you cherish. I cherish liberty for all. You want the govt to mandate something which affects 3% of the USA population and is based upon a sexual act, nothing more than that.

    And, when challenged, you say

    bigot
    homophobe
    etc etc etc

again, why do you want to be segregated based upon how you have sex? Why do you think the govt has any business in making mandates based upon how 3% have sex?

And, if you do get a new race or gender created (what else will you call it) how does one eve prove that you are part of that 3%? We can't check the color of your skin. Your gender doesn't matter.

Do we just take your word for it? Think about how that sounds? You want mandates but without any need for burden of proof

and then you say slippery slope is a fallacy

I have to go find a wall with which to beat my head

Now, THAT ("3%") is a significant number of people (and there are probably more).

In any case, we are talking about people's basic rights overall. If people are being denied their reasonable and prescribed rights under the U.S. Constitution... then it doesn't/shouldn't take a LOT of people (or the majority) to grant "liberty" also to that "3%" minority.

You say "...affects 3 of the USA population..." as if that is absolutely inconsequential. I believe you need to rethink what you're saying here.

Only 3% are homosexuals. Shoot. There are more muslims in Anerica than THAT so maybe we oughta give them some special consideration in the White House.

Ha-Ha! :) Maybe there should be a policy regarded, where unless you're in a group that's 10% of the population PLUS, you get NO serious representation in government.

Bottom line, either we treat everyone the same (by law) or we don't.

It's not what homosexuality is. It's what the push for gay marriage is. The foolish desire for the instant gratification of feeling "accepted" without regard to what kind of impact it might have on the future. It's short-sighted and selfish.

And you're not actually refuting anything I've pointed out. Ridicule is not rebuttal.

    good grief

how in the heck is anyone refused Constitutional rights?

If tomorrow I decode to only have sex with men, does someone come along and strip me of my right to vote? Do I lose freedom of speech? What abiut the 5th, do i lose that?

It's pure BS when you try and cite rights.

We're talking about how 3% of the population has sex!!!

Who cares how they have sex? Why must we create a special race or gender because a minority has sex differently then others? Why does it matter?

What special interest do we then segregate after that? Should we make special rules for those who wear their pants low? Maybe some people think those who wear their pants low are numbskulls and they are not given fair treatment because they wear their pants low.
    \

Then we'll have the backward baseball cap wearing group start their lobby because there are some who wonder how can you not be aware that your baseball cap is on backwards? So, we will associate lesser intelligence to those with backward baseball caps so a special group with protection must be created for those with backward baseball caps.

why can't you see the nonsense? No, you will grab your talking points, give me some asinine label and refuse to see that if we start to make LAWS about how one has sex then every other item must also have special laws created.

Okay. But can you first join me in urging the Obama Administration to appoint a straight youth liaison to work on the everday issues that straight youth face? I find the lack of officially straight people in the White House disturbing. I did a google search, and I can't find a SINGLE person on the White House staff whose title includes the words "heterosexual," "straight," or "male-female"!

We must address this urgent issue of not enough government interference in specific kinds of youth sexual relationships.
