Yes indeed, green is the new red. If you can't stop capitalism, democracy and freedom one way you find another. If you can't bring down America with bombs do it with regulations.

"As evidence discredits global warming, resistance to such facts by green elites reveals their real aim is bringing socialism in through the back door. But don't take our word for it. Listen to the climate change boss at the U.N.

"Christiana Figueres, with the lumpy title of executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), came right out and said it: Democracy is a poor political system for fighting global warming. The really good model is communist China.

China is "doing it right," she told Bloomberg News Tuesday. "They actually want to breathe air they don't have to look at," she said with a straight face."

"The only thing clear here is the real motive of global warm-mongers. They're less interested in cleaning up the Earth than in controlling human beings in the name of "the common good" — just as the Bolsheviks once did, first in Russia, and then in China, where the tyranny continues to this day.

Global warming alarmists "want to change us, they want to change our behavior, our way of life, our values and preferences," according to a man who knows a thing or two about communist regimes, former Czech President Vaclav Klaus. In a speech to Australia's Institute of Public Affairs in 2011, he stressed:

"They want to restrict our freedom because they themselves believe they know what is good for us. They are not interested in climate. They misuse the climate in their goal to restrict our freedom. Therefore, what is in danger is freedom, not the climate."

And a front door to being more responsible with the only home we've ever known. God isn't going to save us when we screw up the surface of this planet to the point that we can't sustain ourselves any longer, or at least not without our own Great Dying.

For you it's just about Al Gore and the evil S word, but for a lot of us, it's about not pooping where we sleep.

It’s all about redistributing wealth from the West (the U.S.) to the rest of the world.

Global warming is just a money grab.

No ways man, not China it's NASA!

The aliens control them and they want the global climate to suit their needs so they can easily take over the Earth.

    :hiding:

"Investor's business daily"? Who cares. China and communism? Everyone already knows China is the worst polluter for greenhouse gases on the planet.

Stop mixing climate change and global warming with politics already.

Yup, There are zero plans to spend the money on giant Ionic Breeze air cleaners the size of buildings.

In fact, theres no plans to do anything to even attempt to correct the problem, they just want money.

No, the best way would be innovation. Here's to hoping ITER works so we don't go extinct when we run out of other ways to produce energy: https://www.iter.org/ At least 35 countries have invested in the project alone.

At some point some new technology will make fossil fuel go the way of the dinosaur. Until then we need it and attempts to put the cart ahead of the horse are poorly thought out ideas based on mass hysteria and politics.

Technically she isn't wrong. When you have a centralized Govt it's a lot easier to make unilateral moves such as this because it doesn't matter what your 'opposition' thinks. It's the same as most other issues that require consensus in democratic nations.

That said, it's not a good enough justification to move to a Govt system like that, but she isn't wrong in her statement.

(also, China isn't socialist, they are Communist. There is a difference between the two)

I think we humans are good enough at killing each other on our own and don't need to catalyze the environment to help the cause.

We are likely to get some help nevertheless. There have been a few mass extinctions in the geologic history of the planet. There is no reason there won't be more in the future.

No argument there, of course there will.

But that doesn't mean we should be idle about catalyzing one when it can be avoided by changing our actions.

Yes but that assumes that changing our habits will fix whatever you fear.

Yep. They let that cat out of the bag at the Copenhagen Conference when a UN delegate admitted that the UN's climate initiatives weren't about the environment, but were about "evening the playing field"....

That is a quaint platitude but the science demands that we must immediately stop all use of fossil fuels and severly curtail our current land use practices of farming, logging, mining, and other carbon emitting activities. Are you prepared for the Great Dying as a consequence of those mandated actions?

    "Science" is not demanding anything!

But science is simply telling us what the consequences may well be to consistently does what we have been doing.

For people over 50 or 60, those consequences may not be too bad, particularly for those in the upper 20%, but for everyone else it's pretty grim.

Yes, the science demands that we must stop what we have been doing in order to halt or slow global climate change. That means stop all use of fossil fuels and significantly altering our land use practices. That is the science.

Trading dollars back and forth as we continue to do what we have been doing will not change the outcome.

Nope. Science is about predictions and experiments -- you know, increasing overall knowledge.
What the politicians do with it is out of their court.

(sigh) I didn't write "science", i wrote "the science". I guess this is another one of the nuances of the English language that not everyone can understand.
