Global Warming Refuted

So now curry who the AGW crowd has always detested is suddenly one of them because she says man's C02 may have some impact on climate? Very few if any deny that, what we and her deny is that it's an impact worth getting excited about. We see it as a minimal impact in an extremely complex system that we are bit players in.

 

Most of her peers shun her because of her behavior. For example, when the US released their 500 page 2017 climate assessment report her only complaint was a single sentence about how the rate of sea level rise was accelerating. She said the whole debacle required a "red team" to investigate the situation and basically labeled her peers as frauds. The irony is that the overwhelming majority of the evidence supports the sentence as it was written in the report. And she had no other beef with the report. Now, I don't know about you, but in my job if I go around calling my coworkers frauds because of a perceived inaccuracy I'm not going to be treated well. And if I keep it up I'll probably get fired. This is essentially how she's behaving.

She denies that it is a problem worth getting worked up over and she uses science to back her position. Deniers, on the other hand, absolutely deny that humans play any role whatsoever in global warming. You've seen the posts in this forum. A huge percentage of posters here deny that the Earth is even warming. They deny any and all data related climate science. They deny that we have the ability to make useful predictions. They deny that CO2 is even a greenhouse gas. They call it a hoax, a fraud, and the biggest conspiracy in all of human history. This usually requires them to wholesale deny any and all branches of science that overlap with climate science including but not limited to quantum mechanics, newtonian mechanics, thermodynamics, statistics, geology, biology, and much more.

Judith Curry isn't a denier. But she is a misinformer or at least a skeptic.

 

People who talk the talk vote with their dollars for global warming every time they fill the tank. Nothing but a bunch of phony balonies.

Walking the walk is sacrifice, but you do it if you actually believe. Al Gore don't believe -- except when making the big bank deposits -- it's real for him.

 

<sigh> Based on some recent posts I'd say that poster was not being sarcastic as I had earlier assumed. Damn...I don't even know what to say really. I mean, you post a graph with a trend that is so blatantly obvious to be up and you can't even see it? Are you kidding me? I'm just blown away by this right now. How is this even possible?

 

Yes Judith is a whistle blower and those she blew the whistle on hate her for it.

Few if any in here deny the earth has been in a warming trend since the last ice age ended so I don't know what you are trying to say here.

I'm no climate scientist but have sufficient educational background to understand basic science(I can read a graph!) and I'm continually amazed how scientifically illiterate the denier world is, they fail at basic grade school science levels of knowledge...

I believe he means in context of the AGW hypothesis and if you asked him he'd agree we have been warming since the last ice age ended.

 

Remember that in the 1970's they claimed there was going to be global cooling. Nothing in that chart indicates global cooling, but that didn't stop them from making the claim.

When the temperature started going up, they saw it as a godsend and switched to whining about AGW. Not "warming", but man caused global warming even though there was no evidence. And when people didn't buy their scam, they made up "evidence".

AGW is a scam, just like peak oil and global cooling and catastrophic famine due to over population (that was supposed to have already happened, 90% of us should be dead by their predictions).

 

I totally agree, most scientists in the 70s were predicting global cooling as we see from this graph. Global warming is a scam because we non-scientists on the internet believe so and are far smarter than the climate scientists.

 

I personally debunked AGW a minute ago with a four day forecast.

 

I debunked it too. I hung out in a room a long time. Since I was breathing I was releasing CO2 but when I checked the thermostat the temperature was unchanged. Global warming refuted!

Interesting you should go there because these "infallible" meteorologist can't even get that right half the time but they want us to believe they can predict long term climate with laser like accuracy. Problem is as long term projections come and go they are more often than not proven wrong.

 

How was that a response to my post below? Maybe you have had one to to many martinis?
