The longer trump is in office the more people realize what a buffoon he is and his position as number one laughing stock in the world only becomes stronger.

In the spirit of 'glass houses', let's review his comments in contrast with his own business failures...
    1. Trump Airlines
    2. Trump beverages
    3. Trump: The Game
    4. Trump casinos
    5. Trump magazine
    6. Trump Mortgage
    7. Trump Steaks
    8. Trump’s travel site
    9. Trump’s comms company
    10. Trump University
    11. Trump Vodka

And lets not lose sight of the failures related to companies no longer wanting to carry his 'brand':
    1. NBC - The Apprentice
    2. Macy's - Trump cologne, men's wear line
    3. Serta - Trump brand mattress

I can understand a president appealing to an american company to preserve jobs. But GM has put 1000 of the displaced employees in other positions and have position offerings for the remaining 7000.

Its pretty obvious that GM want to shift production to china and become an importer rather than a producer

What do you expect from the King of Bankruptcy? Now he is working to do the same to the US.

GM would not be here today without the federal government. If GM would not have done such a terrible job and need a $50 billion dollar bailout and only repay around 39 billion dollars and leaving to United States taxpayers holding the bag you would have a point. Until they have repaid every dime GM shouldn't get to do what they want.

    LOL

Without hyperbole, I wonder how the left could communicate.

And what are those "position offerings" you're claiming?

I'm not claiming anything - I read it in the article posted.

If you don't know what those offers are, why buy that the mean anything?

I can't understand why people swallow the hyperbole and misrepresentations that are fed to them all the time.

I'll cite one example. Trump Vodka.

Trump never owned a company that produced Trump Vodka. He licensed his name to a company called Drinks America in 2011. Drinks America discontinued the brand due to costs of production and failure to secure sufficient sales to offset this higher cost. To call Trump Vodka a failure of a Trump business is a lie. But here you have it on a list I'm sure you read on some media propaganda site.

I guess if reacting to this type of propaganda keeps the heart beating, then so be it, but what a lousy way to go through life. Never questioning the gruel being fed to you.

And you can't even be original. That's what the media ministries feeding the left count on.

    Your Google broken again?

GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra has said the automaker expects to have 2,700 job openings by early 2020 at other thriving plants, enough to absorb nearly all of those displaced in plants in Maryland, Ohio and Michigan willing or able to uproot for work hundreds of miles away. GM said another 1,200 affected hourly workers are eligible for early retirement.

LOL. They were very conversational when Obama robbed the treasury, screwed the stock holders, and feed the pockets of the incompetent SOB’s who ran GM into insolvency and disrepute; as well as creating that idiocy called the Volt.

Is my google broken? No. When someone accepts a claim, but knows nothing about it, that is of interest to me.

A rational person would understand that uprooting their family to go work at some other factory in a town hundreds of miles away isn't exactly a good deal. Trying to sell it as one is bull.

Well, to be fair, relocation could be a good deal. My company can move to Miami or Honolulu anytime it wants.

Could be, or could not be. Willing an able to move are two different things.

I would think before someone tries to sell GM's offer as a good deal, they would want to know some details. Going after Trump seems to negate the need for such detail, as attack and vilify is the only objective.

GM owes taxpayers it's life. It forever opened itself to criticism for having gone to them for survival.

I did qualify my statement by suggesting it took a rational person to understand such a move...

I see you don't understand it.

I applaud GM's show of independence. Just let them remember that the next time they want a ****ing bailout.

    Trump brought this upon us.
None of the car manufactures liked to build those little low cost cars, but they did.
Trump in a series of knee jerk ideas froze the CAFE standards, Increased their cost with steel tariffs, and is working to make them less attractive to make in Mexico.
Congratulations he bought a plant closure.
Oh, by the way, FORD is doing the same thing.

The little cars were the result of Obama!

Freezing the absurd CAFE standards gave breathing room to the car manufacturers.

Learn something about the auto industry.

It appears you're applying nothing but emotional reaction to what is going on.

    Really???
Gee, if it's working so good why are they both stopping building them?

The NBC report cited a Morgan Stanley analysis that estimates a 12 percent reduction in Ford's global workforce, resulting in the loss of roughly 24,000 workers. Bob Shanks, Ford's chief financial officer, described the cutbacks as a "redesign" that would include its 70,000 white-collar employees.

Meanwhile, Ford has found itself regularly at odds with the president. As a candidate, Trump threatened Ford with tariffs when it proposed building a plant in Mexico. The company backed out of those plans and opted to expand in China instead.

The main blow from the Trump tariffs have delivered to automakers has been in the cost they have added to many of the parts they import from China.
