Democrats always say you shouldn't go after illegal immigrants themselves, but go after the employers who hire them? Okay democrats, where is the legislation to do exactly that? You all control the house? So I expect legislation to come up right?

I say to simply go after the undocumented and illegal immigrants no matter where they come from. If you can't come through the front door the right way, then the back door should be locked and the side doors should be patrolled.

However, I'm afraid that doing that would simply lead them to start parachuting in from above at night in the middle of the deserts of California, Nevada and Arizona, where you can't see them and you don't even know they've landed. No wall will solve that problem. In fact, we might already be subjected to these kinds of "air raids" from above already. No doubt, they've brought drugs in this way in the past before - no doubt in my mind about that. A great way to do it, in fact. Hell, if I were a drug lord that's exactly how I would do it. Drop it in the middle of the desert at 0350hrs and let someone in a pick-up recapture it and drive away with no one being wiser. Easy. Too, easy, in fact.

We must do something about this multi-million person invasion from the South. If you don't live in a place like California, then you really don't understand just how much of a negative impact this invasion is having on our communities. I'm seeing entire regions of cities in the Bay Area that I once knew and loved being turned into things on par with some of the fevelas originating out of Mexico City. I'm hearing some of the same things have already taken place in certain parts of Southern California, as well. Combine this with Americans overall Homeless problem and Houston (California) we have a serious problem on your hands.

Can we be the world's Caretaker? Can we be the world's Sugar Daddy? Can we (California) afford to be the world's largest distributor of Welfare, merely because we went from being $27 billion in the red to a $14 billion "rainy day" surplus? Should be be spending that surplus on building better Schools, or dishing out more Welfare checks? Moreover, what about the Criminal Elements coming out of the undocumented and illegal immigrants from the South. Don't we have a duty and responsibility to our own citizens to protect them from unnecessary surges in crime by allowing "Safe Havens" to flourish in the state of California?

Your chances of encountering a known criminal with roots across the Southern Boarder are increasing in this State, not decreasing in probability. The chances that your encounter will be with a convicted felon or one that has arrest record firmly established as part of their "identity and character" is also increasing in this state, not decreasing in probability. Are you prepared (trained) to handle that encounter? Would you pollyannaish types who don't think this undocumented and illegal immigration problem would or could ever visit your doorstep one day, have the capacity to know how to handle such an encounter with one who has had many encounters with the Police, but somehow remains in a position to cross your path on the streets of California someday?

Time for Californians to wake up. Are we returning to this:

Is this what you want Californians? Make up your mind. But you had better do it quick, because there are now cities up and down California, that are radically being altered by undocumented and illegal immigrants from Mexico and who have false state identification declaring themselves Citizens of the State of California - when they are not. So, what do you want to do, California? Do you want to Level Up and become a full blown Sanctuary State and just do away with the needless subdivisions of Sanctuary Cities? Or, why not just go Full Level Up and become a Sanctuary Country without need for subdividing states as sanctuaries?

Or, how about going for the entire Enchilada and just renaming our country The New United States of Mexico. What the hell - why not. We are almost there anyway. Or, maybe just: New Mexico. Or, simply: Mexico.

    Geepers.

Yes, but the dems keep saying we have to stop these companies from hiring illegal aliens so where is their legislation to do exactly that?

That perception is a lot like saying that "The reason people are sneaking in to steal watermelons is that the stupid farmers are raising watermelons, and we shouldn't blame the thieves because it's the farmers fault."
That IS the way today's democrats think.

LOLOL.. Trump properties have always employed hundreds of illegal immigrants and you want to wiggle out of that fact. The ONLY smart way to deal with illegal immigration is to punish and fine the employers.

It's already on the books and was put into law under Reagan in 1986 "Immigration Reform and Control Act" when the left reneged on that provision of the deal. The state of California refused to enforce and the rest of the country had to follow suit to match slave labor practices the west coast plantation owners demanded ;)

Everybody has a job to do. The job of controlling the border- belongs to the government. IF congress supported that control. we would not have 22 million illegals here now.
IF private industry is going to have to do the government's job- then we don't need government involvement, it's none of their business.
Illegals don't just come here for legitimate jobs. Had a car stolen a few years ago by an illegal- one who was "unemployed". Turned out he made his living stealing cars and delivering them to the border and Mexico.
Self employed. We found and recovered the car before he go it to the border where he had accomplices that took the cars across. The law just fined him.
Perhaps they should have fined me for owning a car that attracted a thief? After all, if I had not had a car, he couldn't have stolen it. Maybe we should all not have cars or employee people, that way there won't be a reason to enter illegally. You OK with that?

Give the job of border control to the people, without regulation or interference- and there WILL be border control.
Dems are always looking for ways to get other people to do things- free.
Keep waiting for one to step up and take responsibility, but that is getting more rare everyday.

The Border Patrol has 21,000 agents and they do a pretty good job.. likewise, Customs and Immigration, Homeland Security and the US Coast Guard.

Looks like Trump is going to take money from the military to fund his wall.

Most of those who overstay their visas FLY into the US.. they don't swim the Rio Grande.

Of course, the border patrol is doing a good job within the limitations- kind of like a 5-man ball team in the world series. Doing the best they can. They catch somewhere around 25% of those entering illegally. Hard to win the game when you only catch 25% of the fly balls. Not good enough. So...

Then all we need to do is stop interfering with the law enforcement agencies whose duty is to enforce immigration laws and clean up the mess.
That would mean we put a halt to the declarations of sanctuary, which is certainly a bigger attraction than employment, declare that illegal (harboring criminals already is) and require state and local police to fully cooperate with ICE and immigration officials.

And- Stop doing stupid things to enable illegal immigration.

    For example in yesterday's news:

NYC threatens up to $250G in fines for using terms like 'illegal alien,' threatening to call ICE
    https://www.foxnews.com/us/new-york-city-250g-illegal-alien-immigration

This is a problem that can be fixed- it's obstruction that is in the way, not fact. Tolerance of Illegal immigration is an insult to those who do come here legally and a hindrance to the basic process of immigration.

In June of this year, the border patrol arrested almost 95,000 illegals on the southern border. The previous June there were 34,089 such apprehensions.
June of this year- about 95,000 apprehensions at the southern border. In may, 132,000. A year ago in June, it was 34,000.
Since the border patrol estimates that only about 30% of such intruders are caught, that would say about 316,000 came in, that means about 220,000 of them made it. And that's just June. 233,000 in May
Two months- 453,000 successful illegal entries. Times 6 for 12 months, the pace is about 2,718,000 likely to successfully come in illegally this year alone- on the southern border. Those are Government numbers, and as reported by CNN. PLUS THOSE YOU SAY FLEW IN AND DIDN'T LEAVE.

That's larger than the entire population of Houston or Chicago.

    No big deal?

By the way, you are right when you say they don't "Swim the Rio Grande". The Rio is not even navigable in most areas, meaning not suitable for boats. In many places people just wade across, no swimming required.

Or, to be fair- the numbers have gone way since the democrats took the position that we shouldn't enforce the border laws, cities make many benefits applicable to illegals, make themselves sanctuaries from ICE, and openly block federal immigration enforcement. I wonder which of those provides the most incentive?

The dems don't want to do anything anymore much less provide funds to secure the border. I'm glad Trump is doing all he can by himself to secure the border.

21,000 Border patrol agents get paid every two weeks. What are you referring to?
