Absolutely. I introduced my wife to shooting just over a year ago. She has gone on to get professional training, an LTC, and carries everywhere legal. She tripled my range expenses, but she's worth it.

I started her out on a .22 pistol and she started with a Bersa Thunder .380+ as her first EDC. She is shooting it in my avatar.

To stay on topic, her Bersa is named Raul Mateo, because he is from Brazil. My pistols have girl names. I named my Kahr CW-9 Carrie. When I started carrying, my youngest was 6. I didn't want him blurting out "Dad, Where is your gun?". "Where is Carrie?" helps me recover and keep Carrie "covert".

 

Good deal, I used to take my wife to the range, but since I have moved to the sticks and built an outdoor range she goes' outback anytime she feels like it, or when my son walks her out there for more target practice.

He thinks he is teaching her and we leave it at that.

 

I need to make or buy some targets and start taking them to my SIL's. They have 40 acres and we can set targets up on the lower side of the dam for the stock tank. It's much cheaper than the range. My wife likes the indoors though, so it would only work for her about 4-5 months/year.

Obviously you can't defend it, so it should be taken down.

And by the way, for those who might consider this to have nothing to do with gun control, think again, one of the many tactics that the anti-gunners use is to label firearm owners who visit a range, many times with their friends on a regular basis as having mental problems, or practicing to become cold blooded killers.

They also use every tactic they can think of to shut down ranges and or prevent new ones from being established.

When Florida passed a law allowing law abiding Floridians the setup ranges on their own property, the anti's went nuts claiming bullets would be flying everywhere and killing innocent children.

And when we poke a little fun at ourselves about going to the range with our friends, the anti's heads explode, because in their opinion no one should have any fun when it comes to firearms and they all should be banned.

 

This thread doesn't belong in gun control in any way or fashion.
