Didn't read whole thread. IPOs have never been Goldman's bread and butter moneymakers, at least not for several decades, so this is just hollow virtue signaling. The fat money in IPOs for large investment banks is long gone, they can't charge the same fees they used to command, so in all likelihood, applying the decoder ring to this is just Goldman deemphasizing IPOs altogether and trying to milk some feelz out of it on the way out.

 

They'd still need a female on the board.

 

Folks, just think of it this way; according to the left the people on the board of GS aren't racist. But if one of those not-so-racist board members came to work wearing a kimono, had a dreadlocks haircut and wanted to sell tacos, not only would they be racists, but their corporate headquarters might not survive the ensuing riot and arson.

so does this mean if they were all black they woudl be refused too, or all women? all gay, all Christians, all Muslims, all Jews, the list goes on

if they give loans to a company that is 100% black, but do not to a company that is 100% white, yes.... that is racist

heck if they refused to give a loan to a company that is 100% white or 100% black that is racist

 

agree, but I think it should not be allowed for Goldman's to discriminate based on race or gender like that

this is no different from the baker refusing to sell a cake based on the race or gender of the couple - both are wrong

the baker could say, I am not selling cakes unless the couple consists of both a woman and a man

 

I am sure someone will sue them like the bakers that tried the same stunt

 

they can not put that on the ad, all the men would apply, wasting their time, not knowing they did not qualify based on race or gender

 

Those bakers chose who they would do business with. GS is dictating the hiring practices of companies. It’s not the same thing.

 

so if any employees at the bank are black, woudl you say the same about a black business that was discriminated against because they were 100% black?

the reality is, whites can discriminate against whites and blacks can discriminate against blacks

anywho, what if the company is made up of all woman, or all black men, what is their stance on that scenerio...

I think the ignore feature is awesome specifically because it blocks out the "noise". My time is limited, I can catch up / keep up with threads a lot more easily once all of the juvenile trolling is gone. On a slow day I may click "show ignored content" to see what I've missed, but not often. I know some here make sport out of poking the trolls, but I'm not into that. I also think the trolls and the childish insults degrade the quality of the board, and the best way to make them stop is to ignore them.

 

or just convince one of the white male board members to identify as female...

exactly my point... they can be ignored without using the 'ignore' feature by scrollin past them without commenting to them... but some don't have the mental aptitude to do so...

btw, the ignore feature only works when logged in... you can visit the site as 'guest' to catch up on all the blocked content, have a laugh while sippin your fav beverage...
