That is complete BS. The populations you speak of did just fine before killing them became 'fun' . This is just a very lame excuse to propagate such barbarism as sport

    Luntatic ?

I knew such a Gunsmith and Rifle and Shotgun maker.

He was a Gentleman and a Noble and kind soul, and oftentimes, gave me very good advice.

He repaired my CO2 rifles and other guns.

Yet you would classify such a Man as lunatic....

Such is nothing more than the opinion of yourself. The populations managed themselves before human encroachment into their homes offset and negatively affected the existing balance. Such is no longer the case, and as such it is necessary for the human population to control the unintended consequences of their actions. They made the mess, they must now clean it up.

Now prove your case. Show the evidence that is used by yourself to support the claim that hunting is done out of the joy of killing, and has no redeeming qualities that justify its existence otherwise.

You know nothing of wildlife management in the United States. Regarding hunting, the fun is over when the trigger is pulled.

    Are you vegan?

We have over 2 1/2 million feral hogs in Texas alone. They do obscene damage to our crops, fencing, and cars. My niece hit a 300 lb hog and totaled her truck a few years ago. My brother totaled his truck by hitting a deer. If we don't control their population, they will only get worse. Hogs are such a problem, that hunting hogs is allowed year round without a permit.

Nice dodge. What is it about the United States that compels foreign socialists to attack it, but never, ever say a bad word about Russia, China, the DPRK, Cuba or Venezuela?

Exactly! A female feral hog comes to breeding age at 13 months and can bear two litters per year of 5-6 piglets. "Animal lovers" should do the math. Texas isn't the only state considering them vermin with no season, no bag limit and no penalty for shooting them and leaving them like rats.

OTOH, if they are 24 inches or less at the shoulder, they are very sweet eating.

Come on you guys. You shouldn't be shooting all those pigs. Trap them and ship them to that bleeding heart Flogger over there in Scotland. He can distribute them to the starving hordes 'round the world.

    LOL.

Several years ago (1980s) San Clemente Island, owned by the US Navy had problem. On the south end was a bombing range, on the north end a runway and in between was protected land with a delicate ecological system of natural flora and fauna...and unnatural goats. Without any predators, the goats were reproducing at a rate that would ultimately strip the island of natural life leaving it barren and full of starving goats. The Navy's solution was simple and efficient: shoot the goats. Being California, a bunch of bleeding hearts had a huuuuuge conniption. They wanted the Navy to round up all the goats and transport them to the mainland for adoption like they were mustangs. The Navy politely said NFW, can't afford it, shooting is financially responsible solution. Lots of court bullshit followed ending with the Navy being right, but allowing the bleeding hearts to hire helicopters and use volunteers to round up the goats and transport them to the mainland for adoption. All this for goats. Not a natural species, but imported goats. If only the bleeding hearts cared that much for the poor kids in LA, eh?

Sorry; I don't care if you think it's 'barbarism' or not. Your opinion is based in bigotry and ignorance. I also bet you wouldn't know how to take care of yourself in any place that had more trees than buildings.

Yeah, your stock in trade when faced with a fact you don't like is to say "I don't believe that." Well, facts are facts whether you believe them or not, and you can keep your society of sheep as far as I'm concerned.

This post was a Politically motivated Crock-A-lotta-fishbait.....

What is the common theme ?
Guns are bahhhdd ! Guns are bahhhddd !
    Bahhhh, bahhhhhh !
    Sheep be true !

So trot out some so called NAVY seal, and a Sniper, that is a term in Dissuse, now, it is
    Designated Marksman, and
    We "Service the Enemy"...

Every day, there are accounts that prove this post untrue, Armed people, even children, defend themselves successfully, it is not as Rare an occurance as some would have everyone believe !

Anyone so obsessed with guns and putting them before everything else even to the point of emigrating just to get nearer them is just that in my book

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....

Correct. Same for cars, shovels and steak knives. Walter Wallace would spin in his grave seeing Scotsmen seek to disarm the public and kneel before the King.

See, the full point you miss is that his issue with the UK was not JUST about guns. He became highly disenchanted with the growing authoritarianism and the undermining of basic civil liberties that remains rife in that culture, and wanted to live somewhere that enabled him to live his life the way he chose.

The Gentleman I knew was a KBE, much like Q in the Bond films, he wanted to practice his profession unhindered, and he did so, he was no Lunatic, a most hospitable person, he likely would wonder about you....

Sorry but you are clearly making this up as you go along because this is absolute nonsense. I've lived in both countries and know this from first hand experience.

Ironically your 'land of the free' locks up a greater percentage of its citizenry than any other nation on earth even the supposed 'nasty' ones
