Oh! For! If it were not for the sake of the fact that I have a lot more respect for my fellow “lefties” and do not believe they would stoop so low i might believe that someone on the left had convinced you to put your life at risk just for the fun of it

When you start comparing how difficult it is to not suck dicks or restrain yourself from robbing a convenience store and you realize that the jab of a hypodermic needle is STILL about 1000x less of an inconvenience then we can see just how desperate the conservatives are getting with this.

I just hope the entirety of the conservative agenda is like this, so solidly welded to Trumpist failure that is it is sinking you right along with it like the lead balloon it always was from the beginning.

Tucker is a major spreader of disinformation

And the FDA fully approved some time back

all this is is excuses - no issue with me - The data is in -the vaccine protects, you from getting seriously ill and dying - those who do not believe that - well, I think of it as evolution in action

I don't watch Tucker and I never mentioned him so that comment has nothing to do with me.

The FDA only approved of the vaccines a few months ago and that's because their was pressure to do so.

And the data isn't in, we're still learning about it and the potential side effects. Not only that, they're showing to be not that effective requiring multiple booster shots and people still catching Covid.

Trump's got nothing to do with it. Your "logic" in this case has more holes in it than swiss cheese. "It's only a minor inconvenience" is just about the dumbest and most open for exploitation criteria you could have possibly established.

Is it a major inconvenience then? You're being offered protection from an agonizing and often fatal disease. Is a minor jab in the arm too much trouble?

Not very high, like 1-2% overall. It's high enough that people were really concerned if they got it though.

Most people aren't as blithely fatalistic as conservatives seem to be.

You consider 1% of the time to be "often"? Is English your first language?

What other diseases have that percentage?

Rabies has a practically 100% CFR. You could reasonably say that rabies is "often fatal".
H5N1 (the "bird flu") has a CFR of ~60%. You could reasonably say that H5N1 is "often fatal".
Ebola has a CFR of ~50%. You could reasonably say that Ebola is "often fatal".
SARS has a CFR of ~15%. It might be a stretch, but I'd probably grant that SARS is "often fatal".
1% CFR for COVID-19? No, that's not "often fatal" by any rational usage of the word "often".

The 1-2% is an OVERALL rate. It's a good deal higher if you have something that compromises your health (and who doesn't?) or are elderly

Besides, how many diseases are fatal that often? I get jabbed for the flu every year and it has a very low fatality rate, but it's miserable as ****

Would you grant me the indulgence of repeating it please? I know I'm like the deaf guy who's alway asking you to repeat but it gets really tiresome to go searching through posts here and there is always the risk you'll get the wrong thing. Mercy buckets.

People are stupid for a variety of reasons.

The other day my step-son, a fully-grown man, got sick and found out that he now has caught the virus. He had willfully refused to get vaccinated despite being urged to do so by family members. Will he live or will he die? I don't know but my empathy bucket is empty. Maybe his experience, whatever it turns out to be, will be a valuable life lesson to his children and to the people who know him. He made his decision and I respect it, whatever the outcome.

You know the consequences of getting the virus. If you don't care if you get it and suffer all of the effects I don't care either what happens to you. It is your decision but you might want to make out your will and write your obituary and list all of your assets and liabilities so that your survivors will be able to close out your affairs without too much trouble. Be sure to include money for your burial.

You are lucky that you don't live in some other country or you would have something to really complain about. This is a world problem and requires everyone cooperating to achieve the desired results = control of the virus with the minimum amount of deaths and social disruptions. We simply can't allow hard-head unvaccinated people who get the virus continue to take up all of the space in the hospitals and deprive other sick people of their necessary medical care.

So, if you want to continue to be a hard-head expect the system to eventually whack you upside the head with harsh sanctions = loss of job, denial of medical treatment, fines, etc. If the trend continues, things will be very harsh by this time in 2023.

That's part of being an adult, weighing the consequences and then making your own decision.

Part of being an adult also includes responsibility to the society you are a part of
