Gov. Andrew Cuomo Admits Stockpile of Thousands of Unused Ventilators

Indeed. Such fake news is a scurrilous attack upon the medical experts who are performing heroically. Crackpot politicians with no such expertise trying to refute them is absurd and irresponsible.

 

This is true, the reason we have a shortage of mask is because the Obama/Biden regime used 2/3 of our stockpile and never refilled in since 2009.

The point the president was making though is while we need more vinalaters it’s not at the desperate level the media and the Gov have been claiming

 

Ask Gov. Cuomo. He is the one demanding them. I think we need to use this couple of weeks to isolate our vulnerable and get our economy back up to speed. The longer this goes on, more people will permanently lose their jobs and businesses. Sitting around waiting for aid checks is not the American way.

Trump can’t pull ventilators out of his ass if we had a supposed shortage that was never replenished that’s not really Trumps fault. Isn’t that the CDCs job to keep these number at a respectable level? How many people running the CDC are Obama holdovers?

Republican scenario - wait until the patient is gasping for air, then send NY the ventilator.

Coumo scenario - have the ventilator already in NY so they're at least nearby when the patient starts gasping for air.

If I lived in NY, and was a high risk person, I'd really want Coumo to be my Governor ... just say'n.

Talk about a false scenario as Cuomo has been working with the Federal Government from almost day one on this issue and yes he has been getting those ventilators.. It looks bad to have daily press briefings going on about how important they are and how many they need when they had some in a warehouse that he did not know about..

(CNN)Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo slammed President Donald Trump for his call to distribute federal ventilators the state had in storage as the two leaders' war of words over the coronavirus pandemic escalates.

Cuomo argued that the ventilators were stored in preparation for when New York hospitals exceed their capacity as the state has become the epicenter of the American coronavirus outbreak. Cuomo told CNN on Friday that Trump's assessment of the situation "incorrect and grossly uninformed."

"Of course we didn't -- that's the whole point," Cuomo said. "The hospitals don't need them yet. The hospitals aren't at their apex. The hospitals have enough ventilators today, but their numbers are going up."

Cuomo added that his office was planning for a peak in cases "in about 21 days -- that's when we need the 30,000 ventilators, not today."

"So the point is, 'well they're in a stockpile, you must not need them' is just ignorant -- of course you don't need them today!" Cuomo continued. "You need them when you hit the apex, which is 30,000. We're not there yet."

 

I was thinking that too, if in two weeks we have 5 other cities begging for equipment, the answer should not be to "call Cuomo, he has them all"

Wouldnt it makes sense to distribute them to the hot spots now while holding some in reserve before the "apex"?

 

Then why did he the day before deny the warehouse story? Hmm?

 

The jackasses left the room empty and the elephants need to bring in new loads and restock. Useless to sit and blame who did or didn't do what. I'm sure there were plenty supplies if this was a normal flu season like the last couple. This time it is different and more deadly for people with pulmonary problems. I'm sure everyone is doing the best they can and many so much more. When it is all over we should all send those on the front lines gift cards for dinners, flowers or whatever we can afford. Right now the best I can do is offer a prayer and I'm not really a prayer type guy.

 

The problem is that there is no mention of the NUMBER in the "stockpile." And Cuomo said that they are still in the stockpile "because that's where they are supposed to be, because we don’t need them yet." Any idea what he means by not needing them yet? That would tell me that there is PLENTY in the stockpile but he just doesn't want to use them.

 

My inclination is to criticize Democrats because I'm mostly in the conservative camp, but ...

I support Cuomo on this. If a hurricane were bearing down on Biloxi, and serious projections were for 10,000 homes to be destroyed, the governor of Mississippi would not be out of line asking for additional FEMA trailers to be shipped to the coast, starting RIGHT NOW, even if he already had 5,000.

 

Tramp said he replenished the stockpile "many, many times" so you need a new lie!
