"Give me more spending money or I'm gonna cut school funding".

I guess it's okay now to use students as a bargaining chip in the quest for higher taxes. Nice, real nice.

Looks like he can count on the teachers union to help pressure the voters.

One wonders if that was part of the plan . . .

There's other things that could be cut but they always threaten schools, police and fire departments.

No matter what choice he makes, the State is going downhill.

It's a big learning opportunity though.

They certainly aren't going to cut welfare payments to people who might burn LA down again.

Sometimes, it almost seems like the plan is to build public infrastructure to the point were wealth distribution becomes necessary to prevent the whole thing from crashing to the ground.

    It's the same old game.

Threaten to cut the children's education... not the bloated school administrations.

Threaten to cut the children's education... while you spend millions on new gay and lesbian education.

Threaten to cut first responders... while you protect prison guards runaway salaries, benefits, and retirement.

Threaten to cut infrastructure... while you push a boondoggle high speed train that is a total fiasco and waste of BILLIONS.

This is all so scummy. I was never a Jerry Brown fan, but I thought he was at least an honest man... I was wrong on that account.

The Democrats have run the state of California into the absolute gutter.

They certainly aren't going to eliminate the sales tax exemption for the multi-millionaire's new yachts!

Sales taxes are only for cheap stuff like Chevys and Toyotas!

The last time the messed with the Yachts it cost hundreds of good paying jobs for those who built, maintained, sold, and stored the yachts.

Luxury items can be done without, Toyotas and Chevys are a must.

When you tax something, you get less of it.

Yep, it's a very typical dirty, rotten trick: cut the popular stuff first, not fat pensions for pencil-pushers.

Hey Dave, your boy Moonbeam is running the show, AND putting a gun to the teacher and students' heads.

BTW- didn't John Kerry try to evade a yacht tax by buying a yacht in another state??? That's another Democrat multimillionaire leader. You guys are beyond gullible.

    LOL!

Yes, this is a good idea let the people see where their taxes go and give them the choice to give it up. No more voter demands to cut taxes and grow the town at the same time.

Next year they should vote on picking taxes or loosing their trash or sewage service.

This is such a good idea, I think that the Federal Government should use this tool to solve the budget problem. Let the voters decide whether they want a tax or get things taken away. No more of these empty threats to "just pay for services with cuts" nonsense that the Republicans and Tea Party claim is the answer to dept.

Uh huh.... except he's hellbent on building the high-speed rail project that his state's own panel on the matter says isn't financially viable. And targeting tax cuts to "the rich".... doesn't sound too libertarian either.

Yeah, except the tax increases are almost always targeted towards one group. Pretty easy to get people who pay no taxes to increase taxes on the people that are doing all the paying.

Won't mean a hill of beans one way or another.Californians are already the
most goofy in this land.Just look at their Jury decisions. They're a bunch
of flakes. In fact, even bothereing to educate Californians can be viewed as
an exercise in futility.Let them All eat Smog.
