Great analysis as to what the hell happened to our schools.

Lots to take in and think about here. But Jesus Christ. When DeSantis gets in office, he needs to dive in on this **** and fixing it.

I attended eight colleges and universities yet they didn't allow debates to break out in classes. I attended 1979-1997. I was flunked at the Univ. of Arkansas for stating my position in 1987.

Students protested at universities during Nam and now those Nam boomers claim the students are protesting now? No surprise as kids do like to protest for their causes.

You are a busy little beaver. I was hoping you would have spent this time educating yourself on oil. Instead you want to dive into this thread and share you wisdom on the subject of school faculty pushing race dividing policies?

“Sex,” I was pretty sure, meant whether you were a boy or girl, and “sin” made Tante Jans very angry, but what the two together meant I could not imagine. And so, seated next to Father in the train compartment, I suddenly asked, “Father, what is sexsin?”
He turned to look at me, as he always did when answering a question, but to my surprise he said nothing. At last he stood up, lifted his traveling case from the rack over our heads, and set it on the floor.
“Will you carry it off the train, Corrie?” he said.
I stood up and tugged at it. It was crammed with the watches and spare parts he had purchased that morning.
    “It’s too heavy,” I said.
“Yes,” he said. “And it would be a pretty poor father who would ask his little girl to carry such a load. It’s the same way, Corrie, with knowledge. Some knowledge is too heavy for children. When you are older and stronger you can bear it. For now you must trust me to carry it for you.”
    - from The Hiding Place: The Story of Corrie Ten Boom
We are asking our children to carry loads that are way too heavy for them. They should not be forced, as children, to see and feel the world through the lens of adults. Innocence is worth protecting and worth fighting for. We need to do our part as teachers, parents and caregivers to carry certain things for them until they are old enough to bear the load.

all the sex pushers should read and let our Kids be kids

What percentage of the population was expected to go to college in 1965 to 75? A lot of college students don't seem to bright these days.

    ….don’t seem to do what?

OH! Speaking of your criticism of college students, are you one? I think you meant “too”. Maybe not.

Learning centers have been melting pots of liberal ideas for the last 2,000 years - why would you be surprised that
they would have a liberal bend now? The ideas of Socrates were so "liberal" that he was basically put to death by the conservative Senate.
Leonardo Davinci - one of the greatest mechanical minds and artists and teachers of the Renaissance, was liberal about his art and
life style, and berely escaped with his life when confronted by the conservative Church. The Father of your computer, Alan Turing, lived
    a liberal lifestyle.

So when you start talking about getting "liberals" out of education, you may be severely limiting creativity and innovation as well.

College has been a place for exploring and examining ideas, and a place for contention of ideas. But that seems to be too “liberal” for the right. So they resort to book-burning and censorship.

Hell, dude - half the programers and great minds powering our economy are "liberals". DaVinci and Turing WERE great minds of math and science. Einstein
was a liberal, that can't be denied, and a great deal of today's math and science are based on his teaching and finding. The reason colleges have
more liberals in math and science is because they are better at it.

Conservative, by definition, means not venturing out too far from home. It’s hard too see possibilities when you are only willing to see what you’ve already seen.

The wokists are on the march.

    Goodnight, Poor Harvard!
    December 16, 2022/ Francis Menton
    [IMG]

    • Yesterday I got two emails from Harvard University, as I presume all other Harvard alumni also did. There’s big news: the Presidential Search Committee has announced who will become the next President of the University. It’s Claudine Gay, currently Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the largest constituent piece of the institution. She will become President on July 1, 2023, when current President Larry Bacow steps down (after only five years).

    • Have I heard of this person before? . . .

    • The picture emerges of Gay as the enforcer-in-chief of wokist orthodoxy at Harvard.

    LOL

I don't get graded on internet posts. But I often have to resist the urge to correct people on affect and effect to.

No child left behind appears to have been the beginning of the end for national educational improvements. Been down hill ever since.

Your source reveals that they are already lost. The Truth can no longer be told on America's college campuses.

“From Brunet’s description, a main focus of the whistleblower complaint was an Enos paper that appeared in 2016 in the American Journal of Political Science, with the title “What the demolition of public housing teaches us about the impact of racial threat on political behavior.” In the paper Enos advanced what he called the “racial threat theory.” From Brunet’s description:

[The ‘racial threat theory’] is closely related to "critical race theory," and attempts to quantify the degree to which white people feel threatened by minorities. To study this, Enos examined the demolition of public housing project in Chicago in the early 2000's and concludes that it resulted in white people voting less conservatively.

But the whistleblower points out several problems with Enos’s analysis, of which this is the main one:

The main problem with his analysis — among several problems — is that 800+ precincts in Chicago are missing from the data, with no justification given. It is possible/probable that Enos deleted this data by hand. Many of these deleted precincts are in Republican leaning areas, meaning Enos' conclusions about voting patterns would likely not hold if they had they not been deleted.

And there’s a comparable problem of alleged data falsification in another one of Enos’s articles. So the complaint is facially plausible, and not difficult to investigate. What happened to it? From Brunet’s April 2022 piece:

Rather than investigate this claim, Claudine Gay had the Harvard Committee on Professional Conduct write a dismissal letter with the justification that CPC is not the appropriate unit to investigate, so the report is dismissed.”
