That's true. The Democrats wouldn't be where they are without the massive funding of Wall Street and other assorted billionaires. Although this Green dream thing is nuts, I think what will get the donors panicking is Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax. Can't wait for her to officially declare.

I don't think she's going to declare. That fiasco with her DNA test sealed that deal. Or maybe it was her cringey 'let's have a beer' video.

I'm hoping she's so obtuse she thinks she has a chance.

It isn't accurate, especially since it is based on the least likely worst case computer scenario RCP 8.5.

She is in her early thirties and used to be a bartender. Oh and she lied about her background in order to win her election bid. One could say that she is as ignorant as a rock, but then again there is no call to be insulting rocks along that line.

A better proposal is very high carbon taxes and carbon fuel taxes. We can then lower other taxes to adjust for the pain from other taxes. We also need to mandate recycling in every US city and advanced public transit. We also need to set up green energy nationally and fund green companies and green research.

If this doesn't happen the Trump Adminstration is projecting a 7 degree temperature rise by 2100 with more to come and we will be impacting our descendants for tens of thousands of years to come.

Let us know how it goes in your state, and in about 89 years when your predictions are proved accurate, us hillbillies might think of testing it out on the city slickers.

Since when does AGE 29 qualify as "early thirties"?

Is that one of those "60 is the new 40" type of things?

Well, you might want to remove Florida from your possible retirement locations.

Florida was never a consideration in the first place. Far too much humidity for my tastes. Maybe Alaska if we can get it above 7 degrees. Let's push for 10 degrees in five years because that's how long before I can start looking at a calendar filled with nothing but sundays.

Uh, no. That's the far left governments burning.

What we stand for created the greatest country on earth.

Yours is the failed ideology. Failed, over and over. Definition of insanity, really.

Yeah, I think the denouncing of nuclear power is silly. Unfortunately public opinion is very negative about it. Needs to be rebranded in my opinion. This is not the same as nuclear power as it was from the 70s.

First the notion that we can get away from both Fossil Fuels and nuclear energy in the next 20 years let alone the next decade, is absurdist nonsense.
2nd sorry but without fossil fuels New York City starves to death. and most other major metropolitan areas suffer severe food shortages.

3rd while the economic cost are more than we could ever pay in a century the real human costs would be huge and unsustainable and a tragedy of immense proportion.

4th in the end the chief cost of this grandiose endeavor would be human freedom on a cosmic scale.

How would carbon taxes on fuel help anything?

It will discourage the use of carbon fuel sources and encourage the use of alternatives.

I think the nation would benefit from high speed rail. Acela already takes you to downtown NY faster that flying from Logan. Running high speed rail from Atlanta to Boston would be efficient. This doesn't have to be 200MPH bullet trains but something about 120/150 that would not require all new track, just welding. (disclosure! I hate to fly and I am only 5-10 and 200 lbs. Pity the people larger than me).
I think there should be a tax on NEW cars/trucks that don't get recommended mileage. You can buy one no problem, it is just taxed.
I think all new home construction should be energy efficient, and not just 4" of insulation type.
More gas lines in the northeast for new developments,
Credits for using less electricity/energy than your neighbors. You use Xkilowatts and your neighbors uses Ykilowatts you save per kilowatt also.

I think the market with a combination of incentives and taxes can save us enough so that the most expensive solutions can be further down the road.

And what is worse for me is Sen Markey is co-sponsoring it.

I am a lifelong dem. I don't understand how politically stupid my party has become. They are fighting each other over who can offer the most intrusive plan for our nation. They are scaring every centrist in the party, If the right was led by a guy like Kasich and not Trump it would be a Reagan/Mondale landslide in two years. The only thing that gives the dems hope is Trump's personality.
