    I'm not so sure.

    You could be specific about state violence against a particular race. I could then decry state violence across the board. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive.

    Bad analogy.

    Oh, well if you say something illogical, and someone points out WHY it's illogical, you have to respond with a reasoned argument for why in fact your position is logical, or refine your position in some way so that it retains some validity, or drop the position entirely. That's how debate works and how you present 'arguments', argument in this case being a technical or philosophical term rather than just another way of saying 'spat'.

    So saying something like 'you're stupid' or even 'I disagree', is not an argument, you have to present reason and evidence as to WHY you disagree or WHY I'm stupid.

    I hope this helps -- It's really important that you begin thinking in these terms if you're going to do your cause justice :)
