    Theoretically, how would this work?

Would you support it? Would you cooperate?

It would be interesting to see how that would work. Im guessing there would be an immediate civil war that would make the first one look like a picnic. Id happily fight that fight.

Incidentally, we already have some idea of what it would look like: Connecticut tried to get its residents to register their "assault rifles" and it failed miserably. People simply refused to cooperate.

    It's a pipe dream.

People only carry on about gun control around something like this so they can blame people that aren't responsible for the crime. Often times the person that did it kills themselves and they're not around and in this case he's just one man he can only get killed once.

    Essentially it's just saber rattling.

    I don't know about that.

Tyranny isn't something that happens overnight. Instead, it occurs incrementally.

First it's bumpstocks, then it's expanded background checks, then it's banning people based on secretive watchlists, and before you know it, the jackboots are going door-to-door demanding your guns.

So while I agree that many of the people promoting gun control are just virtue signalling, the people directing the gun control agenda, the ones at the very top, are totally serious about disarming Americans. Do not underestimate them.

exactly...what people fail to realize is the staggering numbers involved. If anyone takes the time to think about it, millions of people who wish not to be disarmed wont. There wasnt enough enforcement to stop a 100 guys armed only with bad attitudes from setting ferguson on fire...Imagine millions of seriously...and I mean seriously pissed off heavily armed people who believe people are taking one of their most cherished freedoms. Gun confiscators would have lifespans shorter than gnats in that scenario, thats just on the small fraction they would actually be responding to in person. There would be millions...whos paying for that confiscation? Not me.

It wouldn't. They could never even hope to confiscate even 10% of the guns. The manpower and budget simply doesnt exist.

'Confiscation' is going to be the excuse for the govt to bust in your home whenever they want. A 'private informer' will be on record saying they saw you move an AR from ur car to ur house. At first, it'll just be white christian middle and upper classers, so the left wont protest it.

I give it a year before the govt is SWATing illegals, potheads and environmentalists claiming 'confiscation!' and the left wont say a damn word cause they think they're being protected from skeery guns.

Meanwhile the school shootings will continue, we just wont hear about them in the news.

So the assault weapons ban expired in 2004 after 10 years so that's 24 years of absolutely nothing happening other than the previous ass clown and chief pulling some executive order nonsense. I remember a couple years ago Pelosi did a little sabre-rattling but she knew she wasn't going to get anywhere because Democrats were in the minority they only propose things when they're in the minority.

don't let yourself get worked up they can't touch bump stocks they don't even know what those are. You can call it something else the way the last laws were written with regard to Banning things it was so pathetic then I think it was structurally poor.

There are hundreds of millions of citizens in this country that own guns. I don't think we're going to see confiscation in my lifetime. First the government does not have the Manpower. Second it will not go down easily meaning this will cause a civil war. I don't think the governments that stupid.

I honestly think one of the reasons they're doing this is to Rattle your cage.

I don't doubt there are people in the government that want to disarm the US but they don't have the power.

Ask California. They have a version of this already. Starts with registration.

This is a perfect example of how the far right thinks and why the NRA plays them like a cheap kazoo. Lets invent a scenario, get all head up about it, then have Captain Marvel (gun owners) ride in to save democracy killing everyone that disagrees with them. These guys run on wet dreams. They are children.

    Gun Bans and Confiscation
So you are saying that you are for gun bans and confiscations?
You didn't answer the OP question of how it work.

Here’s a question for all who propose banning guns. When there is a mass shooting you want to ban guns? So if a driver uses his car and mows down a group of people on a sidewalk are you OK having your car banned?

It's a scenario that I've heard many liberals advocating. Several of my liberal friends on Facebook told me straight up: Repeal the Second Amendment and ban all semiautomatic firearms.

And when you look at how liberals behave when they have all the power, like they do at the local level in several cities across America, they ban all guns. That's what they always do: Chicago, Washington DC, New York City, etc.

So when liberals claim they don't want to ban guns, I know they are just lying. Just look at the countries they want to emulate: The UK, Australia, Japan, etc. All countries that treat gun ownership as a government-granted privilege instead of a right.
