    Wrong. A great deal if not most of those deaths are the result of bad health habits, conduct and choices. And i dare say that the bulk of murders and suicides by firearm are the result of misguided language, psychological abuse and improper upbringing. Banning guns may insulate, but it doesn't address the issue which will continue to fester.

    The number of guns in America has been going up for a long time, during that same time gun crime has been going down.
    80% of gun crime is gang related.
    We have a gang problem not a gun problem.

    New Zealand, essentially had no problems.

    A great number of mass killers were under the care of Psychiatrists and using psychotropic medications. So perhaps a list of people under psychiatric care or of Psychiatrists themselves would be more appropriate than a list of NRA members. And aren't most murderers from single Parent homes? Seems the signs all point to left.....to the ones blaming guns and pretending to care.

    Do you see any irony in the fact Billy used a modern semiautomatic rifle when other options were available?

    Do you find it humorous or detrimental to your position that kangaroo hunters in Australia are unable to use semiautomatic weapons, and that a good percentage of tagged carcasses are neck shot instead of head shot? Or that many injured kangaroos are never recovered and die slowly of injuries that could be prevented at least partially with semiautomatic weapons per my examples? One account I read a professional commercial (incidentally a really, really good shot I’m sure) could not recover two out of around twenty carcasses even using thermal imaging? What became of them? Do you care?

    Next time I have a difficult euthanasia case I would gladly have you come demonstrate how to do it correctly. It’s the worst part of my profession and I’d gladly accept your expertise.

    Very few semi-automatic guns are used in war; semi-automatic guns in hunting and (especially) self-defense is -quite- common.

    Real simple, the police find a membership card in the shooters pocket or a member of media who is also a NRA instructor or TC and knows where to look.

    Useless comparison as membership dues have been rising, as such annual membership income does not relate to the actual number of members, many of whom purchased long term or life memberships and are no longer paying annual membership fee's.

    But anyone who quotes the WAPO isn't interested in facts anyhow.

    How do they know anything? They investigate and report it. Generally, if one is a member of the NRA he/she has a membership card in their wallet and/or in their desk drawer. There would also be a subscription to an NRA magazine in their mailbox and NRA magazines in their home. As well as NRA membership correspondence, renewal forms, etc. in their mailbox and home. They might also have NRA themed items in their home, such as a cap or backpack. Any decent reporter could find out these things.
