Is that dictionary`s description of the meaning of bamboozled? Do you use the word where you live? My understanding of it is, to be bamboozled, is to be confused, therefore the use of one of our old sayings, "bullsh1t baffles brains".

you do know the difference between confused and perplexed, don't you? There is no confusion that you want to see America disarmed. And from the tone of your side of the thread, it is only America you seek to pull down.
Why not invade us and establish a new world power through flowers and pretty things. Hurry up, you are wasting daylight.......
Since your counterpart would not answer this, maybe you have the stand up...since the private sectors does not have guns, why do your LEO's still carry?

nope..i was saying resorting to deflecting or being dimissive without facts or opinions, are all ad homs. I still say we have the Right and you don't. But I suppose that's what you prefer, privilege over Rights. Well, not everyone will agree with that. People who do not own guns will always be less than their governments and can expect to be treated that way.
What perplexes (NOT confuses) me is that you say we don't have the Right to own guns against people who do use guns, but we do have the right to use baseball bats in lieu of anything better. That is utter tosh, again

Don't drag my country into this. We have a different social environment. Here not many people particularly care about firearms and an overwhelming majority of the public supports crazy gun control.

That doesn't make it right, but it does make this video pure crap. Australian's haven't felt the sting of government as the video implied, we wanted this and we still want it.

(I do not support gun control, but I do support common sense and logic)

There seems to be some crossed wires here. I grew up in a household where firearms were always present. We all learned the rules, and there was never an incident. I`ve been a competition pistol shooter for 37 yrs etc.etc. The reality is that the safe handling of all firearms is all about personal responsibility, exactly as it is when doing anything that could harm others. In this country, there has for quite some time now, been a pathetic push to regulate every little thing in life, to suit the lowest denominator, to idiot proof the world. It would seem to be a good thing for the idiots of the world, but it won`t work in the long run.

Just seems to me these days we pander to peoples stupidity rather than letting them learn lessons to the betterment of themselves.

Lack of personal responsibility has become a major epidemic in our society.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in guns. When growing up we were surrounded by them and yes I was a very good shot, but I hate them, everything about them. They are needed by certain people because of circumstance such as lifestyle, and those people generally have access to them, but I don't see the need for urban families to have one in their homes.

I don't mind the gun laws, I haven't seen any great negative impact from them, there may be some, but I haven't seen it. There are many other rights that have been stripped from us that are much better debating than gun laws. Like the fact that we can no longer sing Christmas carols in some schools.

Now that is ridiculous. Society gone mad !

I`m not disputing responsible legislation enforcing licensing and security, but there are some draconian aspects to our legislation. For example, the quota system requiring a pistol shooter to compete in a minimum of six registered competitions per anum, or have their license revoked.

Ah, now I do agree. I never said it was anywhere near perfect, how could it be, it was designed by humans.

...and it was about Australia. But I suppose you have a problem with that as well.
One thing to point out, Oz doesn't hold the property rights to the Australian section at PF.

That aspect of the law was designed to kill the sport, a sport that is one of the safest of sports. I`m not complianing for myself because I`ve had my time, illness, and work commitments cost me a few thousand dollars, and the loss of a sport that I loved, and was still competitive in, especially rapid fire competitions, as I`ve practiced instinctive shooting all my life. I`ve never had a safety breech, or an incident in my life, or I would have never touched another firearm again.

Some of our firearm laws are purposefully draconian, and this is wrong. However, it is now very easy to obtain illegal firearms, because the harsh laws have given a lift to the profitability of the black market. I even frequently hear of these things for sale, even though it`s widely known that I report this knowledge to the Police. I hate the thought of the wrong people having posession of firearms.
