    Students and staff quickly notified an armed school resource officer, who pursued the shooter and fired a single shot at him, Cameron said at a press conference around 11:30 a.m. The shooter fired back.


    Parkland's high school and this high school had armed security.

    The bullshit NRA/Trump meme that mass shooters only attack gun-free zones is dead as a doornail.

    Your meme is irrational. A) you don't know if the student shooter was aware of the armed SRO. and B) the school actually is a gun free zone. I suppose reading your own citations is too onerous?

    I keep telling you that if everyone had a gun it never would have happened but you just don't want to believe me! If every student and teacher was packing an assault rifle they would have stopped this guy before he could have hurt anyone! I think everyone in America should honour the 2nd. amendment and carry at least one rapid-fire weapon and a couple of hand grenades. That's the only way to end all of this violence!

    Well the shooter died, so no one has to see his face or pay to keep him alive and fed. Not sure about your gun free zone narrative, but certainly the armed Officer there helped. Even if that help was nothing more than running interference so the shooter couldn't move and shoot at will.

    Could have been a lot worse.

    The shooter shot the people he wanted to shoot - they were just lucky he was a bad shot.
    It was good that the shooter was put down, but at this time it is not known if the two he shot were his only intended victims.

    How many people would have died if someone with a gun hadn't been there to stop the shooter?

    Being armed works.

    Running in circles crying while waiting 5-10 minutes for the police to arrive does not.
