Actually, Wuhan Virus has been found in feces of the sick. The water sources most definitely will get contaminated. We're dependent on government run water sanitization to clean it out.

Here's the CDC disagreeing with you about water born illnesses:

Really? You decide who should stock up on what for which reason? Please post your email address so we can all submit our preparedness plans for your approval before we implement them.

Really? Last I heard we had a free market economy. The government, or you, do not control inventory, stores, or supplies. In Venezuela, you'd be loved by the government, telling people what they can and cannot buy and why.

If someone doesn't like the taste of their tap water then they can, whether you like it or not, carry their ass down to the big-box store and spend their own hard-earned dollars and get some bottled water - and it's none of your business to even be concerned. And, considering that there are stay-at-home advisories in all 50 states and that grocery store customers and employees are catching and sharing COVID-19 in the stores, when they go to the store, get enough to last until the end so they don't have to go back for as long as possible.

My preference and plan was to have my needs cared for before the rush but not everyone did. I say more power to them. They're not fighting me for supplies so I don't care if they fight with each other - as long as the fight is non-violent such as hurrying to the store and buying what you can get.

It's up to the stores to manage/limit sales so they can care for all of their customers, if they choose to do so. It's not up to the customers to leave stuff on the shelf.

I went to Sam's Club a couple weeks ago and wanted to buy two boxes of frozen shrimp scampi; not three, not twelve, just two. They had probably thirty different varieties of frozen meals but had a limit of one each. I could have bought one each of thirty different varieties but I didn't want thirty boxes of frozen meals; I just wanted two boxes of shrimp scampi. Sam's is seventy-five miles away and every time I have gone there for the past ten years I buy two boxes of shrimp scampi; it's not hoarding, it's planning. This time, I could only get one. Store policy. Their right.

The solution to others getting toilet paper is to only allow them to buy one. But to ask someone concerned about how they're going to care for their family to leave it on the shelf is just stupid.

The best hope, though, is that all these last-minute shoppers learned a lesson and now maintain and build on the inventory they built for the pandemic and, next time, they don't need to buy anything to be prepared - that includes, remembering the thread topic, the last-minute gun shoppers as well.

Really? Certainly? You know that for certain?

It probably is not it. I hope it is not it. I believe it is not it but neither you, nor I, nor Donald Trump, nor Doctor Fauci, nor anyone else on the planet are certain that it is not it.

Brave talk, positive outlook, maintaining hope, are all important. It might be that this is not the pandemic that ends life as we know it but you're still not certain and can't be.

Why do you continuously concede to his judgmental opinions? You're just saying he's right about who should prepare for what and when but just wrong about you because you are doing just what he tells you to do.

If you can't get toilet paper, wipe your ass with paper towels and throw it away rather than flushing.

You keep talking like you're a preparedness expert but, actually, you're not very knowledgeable at all and not very creative at all. You don't even come close to Internet Prepper skill level, let alone anything close to a real expert.

The benefit of indoor plumbing can disappear at a moment's notice. Just a water main break can deprive you of running water for days or weeks. And if you can't think of a way to dispose of paper towels other than to flush them you're just plain not thinking - which is, more and more, what I think.

Clearly some of us aren't doing our part. Those numbers aren't nearly high enough. A pandemic and only an extra million gun sales? I wish it was 50 million additional gun sales.

Did you mean to reply to someone else? I ask only because what you posted makes no sense.

THIS ^^^^ is the reason for stocking up on firearms and ammunition. Virginia may, or possibly may not, be the last state to make such a ban. No matter what your state, can you be certain it won't come to you? Get them while you can.

No, I replied to you. You're feeding the troll and you don't challenge his right to question what or how you prepare you simply say he's wrong because you're not doing the bad (in his opinion) things he says you're doing.

Just like insurance, guns, food, and, thank you, fire extinguishers.

I expect to die with my guns not fired in anger, with my food storage intact on the shelf, and, hopefully, my fire extinguisher not used. But all of them make my life better because they give me peace of mind.

I find it odd that some (not you) judge what others do for their own peace of mind. To actually say that they're "bothered" by what or why others prepare is absurd and reminds me very much of Michael Bloomberg and his 16-ounce drink rule.

Sorry but your post is rambling and incoherent. No idea what you’re trying to say.

I've never claimed to be a prepper. In fact, had you been paying attention and not possess the reading comprehension of toe jam, you'd have seen where I state exactly the opposite. I've also never claimed to be any sort of expert, so it's rather ignorant of you to suggest that I have.

All that notwithstanding, I promise you, when there comes a time when people can no longer go to the grocery store to buy food, or go to the gas station to fill up their car, I'm going to be in better shape than most...

    Thank you.

If you're going to spend your time here belaboring us with the obvious, you're not going to be much fun...

    Again, stating the obvious.

Yes, they can do that. My point is that they don't have to...

    Two things:

First, all 50 states didn't have the stay at home order when I wrote that. I know, because I live in one of the states which has it now but didn't have it then.

Second, what does hoarding bottled water have to do with Covid-19? What is it about this pandemic which necessitates the hoarding of water?

For some odd reason he thinks people should just drink nasty tasting water. We have a well and unfortunately for our vein when it rains, groundwater funnels into the vein to our well. As a result we get water that is metallic smelling and tasting but also a brownish color. I've tried Brita filters but it doesn't work to make the taste palatable. Sorry, but I actually prefer to drink water that isn't brown and doesn't taste like ass. I guess I'm funny that way. That all being said...we ONLY buy the amount of water that is needed. We don't hoard at all.

    Thank you.

It's a very common tactic among hoplophobes to try to compare America to countries that are very different to the US.

Even though there are over 80 countries with higher homicide rates than the US, gun banners chose to cherry pick a few "developed countries" that are very dissimilar to the US for comparison.

I hope you will enjoy the following article that addresses this phenomenon:

"The Mistake of Only Comparing US Murder Rates to "Developed" Countries"
    https://mises.org/wire/mistake-only-...oped-countries

EXCERPT " Note, however, that these comparisons always employ a carefully selected list of countries, most of which are very unlike the United States. They are countries that were settled long ago by the dominant ethnic group, they are ethnically non-diverse today, they are frequently very small countries (such as Norway, with a population of 5 million) with very locally based democracies (again, unlike the US with an immense population and far fewer representatives in government per voter). Politically, historically, and demographically, the US has little in common with Europe or Japan."CONTINUED

You could use paper towels as makeshift toilet paper but it would be quite uncomfortable and you would have to throw it in the trash not flush it down the toilet or you will have big problems.

That's exactly what they do, all the time. Its only fair that if you're going to compare some countries to the USA you've got to compare all the countries to the USA. If some foreign countries are excluded from comparison then all foreign countries are excluded. If some countries are fair game then all countries are fair game.

I think I said that - about not flushing. It would be uncomfortable but it would be usable. For those who can't get toilet paper, it's a thing to consider. They toss dirty diapers so tossing those paper towels would be no different on the waste disposal systems.
