Where did you get your information from? If I'm reading this table right (I had to condense it to make it fit here, but the link is below):

Number of violent victimizations by type of violent crime 2011:
    Violent crime 232,076
    Rape/sexual assault 34,800
    Robbery 55,908
    Assault 211,601
    Aggravated assault 81,430
    Simple assault 182,739
    Domestic violence 101,189
    Intimate partner violence 76,209
    Violent crime involving injury 105,560
    Serious violent crime 114,609
    Serious domestic violence 46,272
    Serious intimate partner violence 37,989
Serious violent crime involving weapons 93,633

according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, nearly 82% of serious violent crimes involve the use of a weapon. Even if you compare the number of serious violent crimes with a weapon to the number of violent crimes overall, it's still 40% and that's not even counting aggravated assault, which is defined as "an assault:
    (a) With a deadly weapon without intent to kill; or
    (b) With an intent to commit a felony."
according to Florida statutes, at least.

The table used up there was Appendix Table 1 on page 17 of the PDF I linked to, if you're interested.

OK, so you are ok with crime happening, as long as its not done with a gun? Someone who wishes to commit a crime will do it with or without a gun, as shown in countries that have banned them. Our goal should not be to lower gun crimes, but lower overall crimes.

..talk about being full of one's self.......just say it Mr Clarity your so much smarter than he because he's a noob? Now that's what I call arrogant!
You would like every gun on the planet to magically evaporate. Would that eliminate all murder and violent crime? Mass murder is defined as 4 or more people being killed with one gun at one time. Can we say Richard Spec? or Manson, or.....Manson used a revolver, Spec used a knife and a revolver......feller over in China used a sword............
yep, all guns disappear and the world is 100% safer...........or just cops, and legislators and federal employees can own ( Feinstein)
God how can it get more idiotic than that..............bet we'll find out with your reply..........

Mr. James, your reply is rather arrogant. Nowhere have I ever said that I would like every gun on the planet to evaporate. Law enforcement and the military have a demonstrated need to have weapons, so keeping that in mind, I'm not advocating that every gun in the world were to--as you put it--evaporate. Furthermore I have never said in any of my posts that the world would be 100% safer if all guns were to disappear, so I don't know where you dreamed that one up. You may not agree with my position, but that's your right; likewise I don't have to agree with your position either.

LOL so let's ban everything people use to kill people eh? Epic fail eh?

No just saying we don't agree doesn't relieve your burden to prove a percentage I asked for, running away doesn't look intelligent eh?

A disarmed populace will be starved out. There is no "Redress of Grievance, no free speech, no Miranda, no 4th A, and only religions approved by the state. Tomorrow's lesson will be about the Police State and how it effects you.

What it shows is that taking guns away from legal gun owners does nothing for the overall murder rate, and gun grabbers should stop resorting to these countries as places where gun control worked, because it didn't.

mercy. all those anti-gun laws did was affect legitimate owners.........kind of left them open from atttack by those mean ol' crims everybody is so in love with. But looky, that nasty ol'd knife crime shot threw the ceiling in both countries, UK and Australia, and the number of violent home invasions kinda went on the rise too.....WTF? doesn't seem that less guns=less crime after all.........
Before you snap back at me, Gamewell, realize you had better have done your homework................for me, it is about philosophy and reality, not statistics nor utopias.
