Apparently she's in Bangkok atm on her way to Australia to seek asylum. The Thai government may deport her back to her home. She is being pursued by her abusive family because she renounced islam.... Shes dead if they deport her...the religion of peace at its best.....

That is the part you are misinformed about. You have no idea what you are talking about. And you want me to prove my credentials? I have a masters in Middle Eastern studies from a top university, I have lived in Egypt and Palestine, and I speak Arabic. I am not a Muslim. I was raised catholic, but am mostly irreligious, and I have been accepted by Muslims across the world. I also have a few dozen Muslim friends in America and all of them are assimilated. I also dated a "Muslim" girl who was openly an atheist, painted nudes of both women and men, and now does so while living in a Muslim country. We had premarital sex. I met her mother when she came to visit us in New York. Despite what your miseducation on the internets would have you believe, she wasn't stoned, killed, or harmed in any way for any of that. I also have two close friends who are gay Muslims and know another dozen or so gay Muslims. Again, despite what your miseducation on the internet would have you believe, no harm has come to any of them.

Well I would be happy to, but I don't think it is wonderful. It is fine. Its a religion. There are deeply problematic aspects to it, that I as 21st century person find very unappealing. On the other hand there are quite nice parts about the religion as well. It is like all religions, some good and some bad. Generally I find people take to and from their religion what they want. Generally decent people are drawn to the best parts of religion and use those parts to buttress their acts of kindness. Generally terrible people are drawn to the parts of religion I find so unappealing and use those to buttress their awfulness. I have experienced both the good and bad of the Islamic world. The incredible hospitality towards me as a stranger was beyond anything anyone in any Christian country would ever imagine. However, I was also followed home by religious fanatics in a van, only to have the people living in my neighborhood yell at them and run them off (both the good and the bad in one anecdote). I am not blind to problems in the Muslims world, I just also recognize the good, and also recognize that many of the problems aren't Muslim problems they are universal problems.
