#MeToo has claimed the head of the King. Long live the King!

Because does anyone believe that would-be starlets are not still trading blow jobs and sex for fame? Anyone?

If you read the article and his rant, he clearly doesn't understand why he's going to jail.

I think I know why -- it's not because trading sexual favors for fame is not allowed anymore. It's because Weinstein has gotten fat and physically repulsive. If some chick has sex with Brad Pitt or whoever for a movie role, people would want to watch. But Harvey Weinstein? Gross. So now he's off to prison for the rest of his life.

I've no doubt much of the sex he got was consensual, in exchange for roles. But not all of it. He forced himself on women too.

I hope someone tattoos tits on his back and prolapses his anus for him.

It's what he deserves, to die in prison. And he hasn't even been tried in Los Angeles yet.

If karma were a real thing, ol' Harvey would spend the last years of his life getting buggered daily.

I feel the same way though not as fervently, I think he has huge grounds to appeal, the charges, verdict and sentencing are all a result of the #MeToo hysteria, much like McMartin etc cooler heads should eventually prevail.

That's equivalent to the time that murderers get .. something seems off. I think the sentence should have been harsh - but 23 years seems somewhat gratuitous.

While he may deserve - and it is certainly a fitting punishment - definitely fitting the crime - to be sodomized against his will. I don't like your comment - as it serves to condone the state of our prison system - where people who don't deserve it - get sodomized against their will.

Agreed. The best way I can think to prevent/reduce this is something I've advocated for years- a different system for non-violent offenders. Like fines and monitored probation instead of incarceration, or something.

We need to do something - our current system creates monsters - and we imprison way to many.

Yeah the time is excessive for the crime.

Sorry but these crimes should have been reported when they occurred. No doubt this was the proverbial casting couch deal that is as old as hollywood and has been public knowledge for decades.

This is how reality worked forever going into the past. But times change. And that is progress as fewer women will be exploited although many were willing to trade sex for a chance at fame.

I respect those women who slapped the bastard as my female peers would do to a boy that went to far. If harvey didnt stop the right action would be for the victim to file charges. Even given the propensity of the justice system to make it hell on the victim .

Harvey should hhave gotten no more than 5 years with 2 suspended .

He didnt kill anyone. And a huge fine of course and damages paid to his unwilling victims.

But if he made them rich and famous they got a helluva bargain .

Good job system would charge those women with prostitution along with Harvey. Sex in exchange for value.
If system is only attack men it is not a good system

When they should have filed charges for the crime committed

Were any of his victims who accuse him of rape rich and famous?

What bothers me is the gratuitous nature of the Punishment. Justice is supposed to be blind. It is clear that all the hype surrounding this case affected the sentence. Rapists get sentenced every day in our courts - none are getting 23 years - not even close.

I see your point. but the hype is that he literally used and or abused (or worse) dozens of women over the course of his career and long ago lost his moral compass.

I'm thinking that the punishment fits the crime here. but I do see both sides.

And of course, we need to think about those pretty young things who thought
they were USING HIM to get favors. We need to start putting women in jail
    for exploiting men.

    What crime?
This crime has a name - guilty by accusation.

I think that when it boils down to it, that may just be the real reason Weinstein was sacrificed on the Left's #metoo political altar, because with them physical image is everything and Weinstein does not fit the mold.

I may be the only MRA out there that loves #metoo. Elite male allies like Weinstein used his cultural power to push a socially corrosive version of feminism that is destroying civilization but benefited him individually (creating a culture where marriage rates are down, divorce rates up, single motherhood being mainstreamed while nice girls are taught to be as sexually aggressive as men making a world where the Weinsteins of our society find it easier to get laid by lots of different nice women). May he reap what he sowed.

Why don't we start with women who are selling sex for favors. Why is #metoo only about - "to put man in jail"? Don't you think it is bias and unconstitutional?

Hold on here ..He was not convicted of the rape "dozens of women". While we can be relatively certain that it was dozens - "relatively certain" is not a legal standard. Punishment fitting the crime requires "Equal Justice" under the law -and that is my problem with the 23 year sentence.

Its tough for me to justify 23 years when the average is more like 6 years.
