‘Game of Thrones’ Creators Land New Series at HBO HBO has given a series order to “Confederate,” a new drama that hails from Benioff and Weiss, Variety has learned. The show has no ties to “Game of Thrones” and is not one of the many potential prequels in development at the network. “Confederate” chronicles the events leading to the Third American Civil War. The series takes place in an alternate timeline, where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution. The story follows a broad swath of characters on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Demilitarized Zone – freedom fighters, slave hunters, politicians, abolitionists, journalists, the executives of a slave-holding conglomerate and the families of people in their thrall. Production on “Confederate” will begin after the final season of “Game of Thrones.” Based on the reaction on twitter, this project is probably not going to get off the ground. There is so much triggering going on that the SJW's are already near breakdown over a TV show that wouldn't be on the air for years. I for one would like to see this since I like alternate history tales.
The series would call attention to the fact that slavery is now more common than it was in the Old South. Can't have that get out.
Twitter is having a breakdown over this show. Backlash for HBO's slavery series 'Confederate' intensifies on Twitter
PC and free speech are incompatible The party of the confederacy still exercises control over almost all black Americans. The series could be filmed in Chicago or Detroit without spending a dime on sets and background.
