Germany was paying less for government healthcare spending, anyways. It sure seems that the United States system is inefficient, which gives people healthcare after profits to the insurance Capitalists. http://www-tc.pbs.org/prod-media/ne..._might_be_expected_1_blog_main_horizontal.jpg It would appear to be impossible for many people to defend this chart, and say that Americans benefit. I live in Germany. Health care insurance 177,- EUR per month; I'm self-employed atm. Waiting time (since it came up here) for an appointment with my GP is usually 3 - 4 days, if it's urgent, I can see them the same day. Needed a minor operation on my middle finger two years ago, waiting time one day. Had a gallbladder operation years ago, waiting time two days. My sister-in-law had cancer (is now cancer free), waiting time for her two operations were 2 hours. Nobody tells me I can only see this or that doctor, I'm free to choose.
