The Nazis lied to themselves and the people. They rejected liberalism and democracy. They were a figment of capitalism. Bankers and CEOs pulled the strings in the background. Hitler was their instrument to control society. The WW2 was their big business. The people were bleeding and those suckers became rich and richer.

Yes our new American fascists just can't escape the fantasy that they have created for themselves about furners! "Here be Dragons!" haha. I remember traveling from the airport to the Marriott in Hamburg with one of these types (smart boy in many respects but utterly deranged about Europe) and showed him the smart bourgeois city of Hamburg as we rode in the E Class Mercedes which is de rigeur for a taxi in Germany. He was puzzled as to why the place was one of the nicest, wealthiest and coolest cities he had ever been to and wasn't an ISIS ghetto where white people couldn't go out in the streets, the Deutschestan or Eurabia that the snake oil salesmen stateside had lied about being the norm in Europe, again and again and again.

The problem, mein Deutsch Freund pitbull, is that on this forum you will encounter before your eyes in real time the repeating of German history in the "land of the free and the home of the brave". Many of these guys really swallow any old drivel that makes them feel the testosterone in the same way your countrymen lined up at Nuremberg and lapped up the Austrian corporal. The US Right, which is about a third of the country but conspires to rule for ever because they are "a Republic, not a democracy", is made up of the dullest, most uncultured, poorly educated schmucks that you could imagine. A country which never really saw war, in the way that Europe did, and whose "greatest generation" (the ones who actually did see it and fought in it for real instead of from their armchairs) is dying out. America is degenerating into a new type of fascism which in many ways resembles Europe in the 1930s but has its shiny new twenty first century embellishments. The difference is that this marks the decline of the "shining city on the hill" that led us all with Pax Americana since 1945. I would hope that, by contrast, democratic Germany, at the heart of Europe, can pick up the slack in the global struggle against the totalitarianism that you so despise.

And kudos to your Angela, even though she is a little too conservative for me. As the fascists trash her as someone sort of commie (that's America!) she will be remembered as someone who experienced real communism and whose hatred of tyranny drove her whole life. How about you? Are you an ostie? How is the reintegration of a failed communist state into liberal Germany going after thirty years?

 

Here in America, "socialists" are lazy bums that want free education, free food, free housing, free medical and free everything else. I spent years in Germany in the American Army and was amazed that I received "Kindergeld" which is a monthly stipend for each child I had. Although I was not a German and had no intention of staying in Germany, I still received the monthly freebie. Amazing.

I find that some Americans are equally misinformed about the UK (or England as they call it).
If they actually came here they would be shocked at the lack of ''no go zones'' where sharia law takes precedence over the law of the land. An opinion held by Trump himself and countered by Boris Johnson during his time as Mayor of London.
A trip to the pork butchers and nearby gay nightclub in Tower Hamlets with its high Muslim population would soon lead them to doubt the misinformation spread by the likes of Breitbart.

 

That's the usual definition of a socialist. They want everything for free but ignore that others had to pay for what they get.

 

See it as a reward that your father or grandfather freed us Germans from the Nazis.

I have a German passport and lived in Germany most of my life. My parents are from Poland.

I'm more German than Polish. Germany is my home country. I like Poles and Germans alike. I also don't think it's good to force Germans into the Nazi corner. It's part of our history that wasn't good. The majority of today's Germans are decent people that reject Nazism.

Btw, my wife is from Italy.

Btw, I like Ms. Merkel a lot. She was as female Otto v. Bismarck. He served 19 yrs., Merkel only 15.
Now we'll get another Gov. I prefer SPD+Grüne+FDP.

 

I like Trump a lot. He told us what he wanted to do and did it or fought hard to do it unlike the current President that lied to us.

That's fine, but please don't tell your German friends what you did write here in the HC denial thread. It's offensive to most Germans. Germans usually don't like to be held responsible for Nazi crimes. And they indeed hate Holocaust deniers.

 

Coming from a Pole who presumes to speak for all Germans, your offensive post is nothing more than a transparent and cowardly way of accusing me of denying the holocaust which I do not.

Much of what I learned about that tragic era came precisely from some of those same German friends, co-workers, roommates, WW 2 military Veterans and landladies whose eyewitness accounts are as valid as any.

Really? You mean they are not the East Coast liberal elites who dominate American corporations? Or the tech billionaires in Silicon Valley? Or the scientists and researchers in America's universities who just won't accept as literal truth the little ol' stories in their little ol' bibles?

You guys really need to get your story straight.

 

Don't confuse the rich elite that see socialism as a way of establishing control over the population with real socialists that don't earn much and want socialism for the free ride.

 

The rich elite already have control of the population.

 

Here in America that wasn't true at all. Now, you could make a case for the truth of that statement.
