Help! I've fallen and I can't get up

I stumbled on this site, quite by accident and it looks like a place to stay.
As I understand it, I have to post at least 10 times before I'm "approved." Or something.
Please, consider this my introduction and first post.

Help! I've fallen down and I can't get up.

Normally, I don't greet newbies, but the name of your thread conjured up images of a fallen elderly lady with a life alert necklace furiously pushing the button to summon help. So I decided to check out the thread, and found you.

Are you a Mad Conservative? A denier and a birther I presume. Are you a neo-con who wants to starve children and abuse elders? If so, welcome?

Thanks for the 'welcomes.' You all seem real nice.

I'm real nice too. To answer a couple of your questions, I'm not strident but I am firm in my beliefs. I also don't expect or try to change the mind of anyone else. As long as I'm given the space and tolerance to believe as I want, I grant the same to those who disagree with me. I'm not the type to bully or attack anyone else and I do not engage in tag teaming others.

Thank you to the mods who approved my previous posts. I was afraid the hold up might have to do with my nom de plume.

Obviously, I'm a paranoid, as well.

And now I guess I have 4 more posts until I'm given the wink and nod thing.

 

I like headlines (titles) that are eye catching. I thought this would work and with you, it seems it did. I literally did stumble on this site - so falling and not getting up worked with that literal image - for me, anyway.

As a side note: I am not an elderly lady with a life alert around her neck. LOL However, in another life, if there were one, that might happen.

Baiting is kinda passive/aggressive behavior. I usually speak my piece (as politely as I can) and move on.

On our beloved Political Forum a moniker is a nom de guerre. By the way, if the mods allowed my moniker they wouldn't have a problem with yours.

 

Nom de guerre means terrorist or resistance fighter, doesn't it? (Hence the term guerrilla fighter.) I don't really picture myself as that but whatever works here - I'll adapt.

And you're right - if they approved YOU - LOL then I had nothing to worry about.
