They were generally vague about whether they opposed the looting and destruction of property. They didn't want to offend their base.

Some did. Most actually said the looting was wrong. But yes, most politicians stayed silent. The democratic base was very vocal in their admonition of the looting.

How much do you want to bet people come to this very forum and use it as a catalyst to lambast the police?

When those protests turned violent, the democrats inaction absolutely ticked the score card on the supporting side of the riots.

Our civic leaders don't get to intentionally allow the riots to happen, when they have a duty to ensure law and order, then claim they didn't support it.

Do you need to see the blood actually splatter before making a determination that it was a "good shoot"?

Correct. The media referred to the george floyd riots as peacefup protests.

Your moving the goalposts. You made the assertion that their were riots after the last east incident in Minneapolis which I responded to that their was no real protest against that latest action. Then you post a video from last summer when the protests for George Floyd were in full swing.

I’m not going to play your silly reindeer games

    Errr,
The summer of love in Seattle,
The entire destruction of a major parts of Portland,
The three days it governor walz in MN to call out the national guard while the man child payor of Minneapolis told the police to stand down and we all watched on live television while banks, post offices, and an entire police precinct to be taken over and destroyed. Even the press reporting over those nights were begging for the national guard while the crowd was torching buildings that next door held an apartment for expectant single mothers.
    How's that for starters?
We can go in and discuss all these ****ers tearing down monuments and statues, even the ones that were built as tributes to the very cause they were bitching about at a later time if you wish.

I thought we were talking generally, not necessarily this specific incident. Sorry if I was confused.

Your confusing “inaction” with the understanding that adding fuel to the fire would have made things much worse. That’s NOT a defense of the rioters. That’s defense of the decision to not stoke the fires even further to soon. That’s not a political decision, its a standard move in any situation like these cities found themselves in. Especially in Minneapolis, knowing that increasing the very presence that the protestors were challenging was one of the things that actually helps to not make them worse.

No they weren’t. The looting was done by opportunists who were their to do ONLY that. They had no “dog in that hunt” related to the purpose of the demonstrations, they were there to steal, nothing more nothing less. The very same thing happened in the LA riots in ‘92. Those people stole from their own community using Rodney King as an excuse. The same thing happened in Minneapolis. There is a difference between opportunists and activists.

Wrong again. After two nights of the mayors and governor telling the police to stand down, the only things that were not burned and looted were the establishments that had armed civilians at the entryways.
On the third day after the governor was excoriated by the press and public for their inaction, the National Guard was finally deployed and the rioting and looting ceased that very night. The only way to deal with these little pricks is a massive show of force.
BTW, I live in the area and witnessed their terrorism first hand.
Calmer now as crime is at record levels. It would be higher but the city is now armed up and these gang banging cowards are not as bold as they once were.

Okay I would be really pissed if that was my red truck the cops pushed his car into. Hope the victim had glass coverage on his insurance to spare his heirs the added expense.

That is the same body cam slowed down. There are several dash cams and body cameras with different angles.

No. I would like to see more video because they have dozens and are only showing one where it is difficult to see anything.
