Just signed up. Other than a couple of issues with some proposed gun control measures, I take a liberal position on almost every political argument.

I've lived up and down the west coast and retired in San Diego just over a year now. Beyond politics, interests include films, aviation (private pilot) and boating, having recently switched from flying...

Yo. Welcome. Where about are you? A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, in a land near San Diego, I once lived about 200 feet from Dog Beach, down in Ocean Beach. It was a time-warped village of hippies who broke into my house and stole food when I was gone, with great rents on near beachfront properties. The little hut where I lived is now worth a ton! :D But I haven't been down there for at least 20 years. I see it has grown a lot since then. Crazy traffic?

Favorite films? I'm a bit of a film buff.

I grew up in Manhattan Beach during the 60's and my folks made a killing when they sold in the 90's. While any beach town has always been expensive, back in the day it was a much more typical middle-middle class neighborhood that still had a lot of vacant lots. Now it's gone way upper class with almost every driveway sporting a high-end car.

I keep hearing about all these people leaving California, but I've only seen the traffic get worst. Thankfully now that we're retired and living in downtown San Diego, we don't have to deal with it very often.

Regarding films, I was lucky my parents were film buffs and took us to the theatre often. I like many classics, although I find the overacting in so many of the films released before the mid to late 30's too over-the-top. I like most every genre except horror and musicals...

Flying was expensive but great when I owned my own plane. Now that I am old and planning for retirement I probably won’t be flying. Had sailboats but got tired of setting up in the heat so now my hobby is my job. When you like what you do it ain’t work.
