    She looks pretty Indonesian to me. I think Indonesians generally have more "Chinese features" than other SE Asians like Thais or Vietnamese. They also look more Caucasoid compared to, say, Filipinos. But guess it also depends what part of Indonesia you are from. But then her nick sounds more Chinese than Indonesian. Indonesians have weird names like "Gauggunoilan" and such. :p

    There is a fair size population here with Chinese ancestors so , looking at the lady's face, she could be one of those.

    Java heat was based in Jogjakarta but I noticed the hill scenes were filmed in a town Called Wonosobo in Central Java. I've spent a long time in both of these places so I know them pretty well.

    No social security means people work at whatever they can to earn money.
    This guy sells fried snacks for a living, rain or shine.
    He carries his 'shop' on a route he's set out for himself, setting up at given points at given times but he'll stop anywhere if someone wants to buy.

    Some villages have been around as long as anyone can remember, many families living in the same place for generations.
    The nation language, Indonesian, is quite new in terms of its use in many areas so there are still older people around who only speak Javanese their local tongue.
    This is the main road through the village I used to live in.

    A lot of houses are just wooden structures with no floor, no electricity and no running water.
    Did I mention the toilet is a hole in the ground?

    Every village has a graveyard, and they all have far too many tiny graves.
    Life without cash means no medical help so a sick child often becomes a dead child.
