Actually, California is losing population. I myself will be fleeing ASAP. It's socialist policies will soon turn it into another Illinois or New Jersey. Socialism kills whatever it touches.

California Republicans do not belong here. Bitter/ impotence is not at all flattering.

I agree, no one who believes in individual liberty, or concepts the United States was founded on belongs in California. I cannot get out of here fast enough.

Great. Are you migrating to a Red state; perhaps Kansas or Mississippi? Have fun Republican. You won't be missed.

With the repeated natural and man made disasters California has suffered in recent years is it any surprise that some would want to leave. As ocean levels continue to rise due to glacial melting in Greenland and the Poles a similar fate will be striking Florida and other coastal communities in the not too distant future.

I will be taking my sizable assets elsewhere. You see, it is the productive people who leave socialist states, as the freeloaders and non-productive people continue to bankrupt the State.

Where will you go? Folks like you crack me up. You will not go anywhere, you will pay your taxes and you will keep huffing and puffing to make yourself feel better.

How high-tax states like California and New York make it hard for the rich to leave …..
    By Bloomberg

But even before the law, there were rich people in blue states trying this strategy. Some actually moved, while some just pretended to” and that’s where state tax auditors come in. Officials in places such as California and New York don’t make it easy for the rich to say goodbye, with investigators who dig deep, forcing residents to prove they really have cut ties in favor of cheaper pastures.

“You have to abandon the old and establish the new,” said Karen Tenenbaum, a New York lawyer who specializes in residency disputes. “The more ties you cut, the better” auditors like to see a moving van and an itemized list of what was moved.”

James Gazzale, a spokesman for New York’s Department of Taxation and Finance, echoed her sentiment, albeit more formally. “Ensuring taxpayers pay their fair share is a top priority; therefore, our nonresident audit program continues to be very active,” he said.

Here are a few of the more colorful examples of litigation between wealthy residents who claimed to have moved and jilted states that didn’t quite believe them.....snip~

One less Republican will hardly be noticed quite frankly. Your vote doesn't have any impact in the most popular/ populous state. Maybe Nebraska will feel like home.

Good point. You have to be rich to live here. In spite of our high taxes, we are the poverty capital of the US. The gap between the rich an poor is huge and there is very little of the middle class left. Taxes are high, roads are crumbling, and education ranks low. Its good that the liberals have their own petri dish so that the rest of the country can see what liberals want to do to them.

Don't believe that. The oceans haven't risen, that's only in theory. I believe the earth is expanding and has been keeping the waters level no matter how many glaciers melt - and believe me they're melting at a very fast rate. But the earth is not heating up because of what we do - other than maybe our sins, but because the inside of the earth is heating up.

Do you have any idea how many volcanoes have been erupting in the Far East and in Central and South America this past year? The Geological Institute now gave warming about the volcanoes in California. How do you think those fires started? They were all near volcanoes. It took a savvy uneducated geologist named Dutchsense to figure that one out.

Well, I can tell you that CA wasn't able to attract Bryce Harper, who signed instead with the Phillies. Given the size of his contract, he effectively saved tens of millions of dollars in state taxes. And even the "you only pay for the days you work here" BS still couldn't overcome the repulsive nature of Californian greed. I see more and more folks taking the hint, and more high income folks avoiding CA like the plague.

I can assure yo that ocean levels have risen. I have seen beach communities in Mass. that I visited annually for most of my life that have been inundated in recent years storms which never happened earlier in my life.Sea waves now crash completely over the roofs of coastal homes allowing salt water to fill the homes through chimney access ultimately creating enough water pressure in the house to tear it asunder..In other areas the tide and ocean levels are so high they are ripping protective seawalls to shreds.

Hmm... Of course, those homes are recent, the beach is ever and constantly reshaping itself, and storms, well we actually have the records, not faulty first person narrative. The seas haven't actually risen, and even if they had, what you're describing wouldn't be a cause of the woes you imagine. I would remind you that the sea is a hostile place. And the shore is irrevocably and constantly embattled from it. I know, facts aren't the same as your deeply held religious beliefs, but at some point, you have to stop denying the science.....

NV is now a blue state because of all the Californians that have moved here. They might be fleeing the CA taxes, but they bring their liberal CA politics with them. Hopefully, they won't do the same to Texas.

You can't play the game of comparing any other state to the scenic beauty of California. Every state has some interesting/ appealing aspects though quite limited in comparison to California. What other state has the geographic diversity of California? The largest/ tallest/ oldest trees in the world, highest mountain [outside Alaska] and lowest elevation in the US within 100 miles, most productive farming in the world with the most diverse crops, mountains descending into the sea, 800+ miles of coastline/ beaches, the mildest climate in the nation? The list goes on. Florida has magnificent beaches but no deserts comparable to the Mojave/ Sonoran or 14,000' glaciers.

True but some disgruntled California Republicans vow to never step foot in the state again. Their loss.
