You know if we look at the past post FDR Presidents only five actually held down a job in the private sector and all some what successful some more than others.

LBJ ran a cattle ranch and as President he spent hours on the phone every day while in the Oval Office while micromanaging a war from 10,000 miles away running his cattle ranch..

Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer.

Reagan, lifeguard, sports radio announcer, movie actor, as a liberal ran a union.

G.W. Bush (43), drilled for oil and owned and ran a professional baseball team.

Donald Trump, very successful real estate developer.

Obama attended college during the affirmative action era.
If it were have been the 1970's or the 90's Obama would have never gotten further than attending a community college and would likely be getting close collecting a big pension after driving a garbage truck in Hawaii.

Actually it did happen under Bush. His guy, Alan Greenspan, decided to not regulate derivatives anymore. That is when it all started. It is as simple as that.
