So, where are you going on holiday/vacation this year?

Gran Canaria booked for a week and when we fly back, we're going to rough it in the airport for the night and fly out the next morning to Bordeaux in France.

Forget Bordeaux, we're off to Paris. Better flight times.

    I travelled during a pandemic.

In August 2020, me and a friend who I was hosting at mine from July to October, both agreed we needed a break, so we flew off to Amsterdam for a couple of days.

I never flew to Amsterdam before; from London, it was a 50 minute flight, but due to strong winds that day, it we got there faster. I first went there in 2015, and then again in 2016, both times was travelling by land, this time, it was just a short hop.
Me and my friend both had been to Amsterdam, but never together until that trip.

Another 1st for me was; using London's Luton Airport and using the airline EasyJet.

True story, we missed 2 flights and had to pay for 2 extra nights and it was really meant to be a day trip, and standing at Schiphol Airport after learning we missed flight # 2 with airline number 2, I pulled out my phone and looked into how to register for work in the NL and resigned myself to job searching out there while my country was in a transitional period with the EU (British Airways were being difficult that day with their app not working) so the airline refunded that flight and we ended up going back to the airport we started from on the airline we started on, which was the plan for the 1st flight we missed anyway.

I honestly left Amsterdam looking like I just arrived, because I was rewearing unwashed clothes looking like I just came in from somewhere, and this Italian woman I met working in a shop as I walked to the train station in Amsterdam asked me 'where was I from' and 'had I just arrived'.
She was pretty, and if I didn't know better, say she was flirting with me, as I noticed like 2 people in that whole country who had curls like mine, and one of them was this guy on local TV out there.

Before leaving the UK, we had to fill out these Covid forms from the Dutch government's website, and this was back when they just started to care about that, and when we was out there, we saw 1 police check point.
I had both of our papers on my person at all times and wore a face mask when required and the police didn't even look at us (with our face masks on) and they just let us through and we ended up showing nobody our papers in that country.

Now I can say I travelled through a pandemic. lol

Also, the bus company that took us to and from the airport in the UK checked our temperature before letting us board, and the airline made sure and was really anal about everyone wearing their masks on the plane.

That first flight from London's Luton to Amsterdam was the worst flight I ever had in my life though.
I hadn't flown in 15 years, I didn't catch much sleep the night before, it was windy, it was the smallest aeroplane I had ever been on, it was a budget airline, my friend wanted to sit at the very back; I pretty much hugged the empty seat in front of me not wanting to stand up the whole flight and only felt easy when I felt turbulence, for some reason (it made me feel like we were riding an air pocket there or whatever, for some reason, that put my mind at ease).

Coming home was like any other flight I've ever been on.
