The 2022 Oscars in Memorium segment, did they miss anyone:

They missed a bunch but maybe the website lists them. Some are in this thread already. Do they let the Emmys take the ones more famous for television: Peter Robbins, Joan Copeland, Tim Considine, etc? Arlene Dahl and Sally Ann Howes come immediately to mind. Did George Segal die before the last Oscars?

I was surprised the Oscars segment included Betty White who was mostly on TV and wasn't really a movie star. When I post obituaries I have to decide how big a star they were and how many people would remember them which is necessarily a subjective thing. Someone else may have a different opinion. I wind up posting many of them but of course anyone else can too so if anyone thinks some one should've been recognized, be my guest.

She did a fair number of movies, often bit parts in recent years. I saw her in one albeit on TV where they were trying to locate and bring the remains of her first husband home from whichever war he died in.

Anyway, the line is getting blurred. CODA that won best picture only did film festivals and a limited release, made barely a million bucks at the box office, was bought by Apple for streaming for $25M and was rereleased into theaters for free for a limited time after its nomination to build momentum behind it.

Agreed. She was in over 30 movies. To snub her because she made her name primarily on tv would be a diss. Nobody deserved a diss less than Betty.

I think they left out stuntman Bob Herron. He was everywhere and did enough acting too.

Oh my. time to look at that man's credit list. Bets it shows a lot more versatility and breadth of performing talent than we imagine!

Edit: Well that was a winning bet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Morse I see multiple nominations for tonys and for prime time emmies have nothing to do with either How to succeed, or Mad Men.

His real talent was as an actor, his singing was simply a vehicle to create and communicate character, move the plot or... get some more laughs from the paying customers. .

    I knew about this

    I never knew about this

Or this wonderful gem, which really showcases Morse' unique talent for creating character.

Today no one would care about interfaith marriage, it would be celebrated for its diversity:

Those piercing eyes were his trademark, as was his maniacal laugh.

    Here's to the goodfella!

Have been a fan of his work since the 70s. His music is so relaxing.

    He will be missed.
