If you are referring to Trump--He's playing Hong Kong as a Trump card to get the best trade deal with China that benefits him. He will betray Hong Kong and America in heartbeat. But then again, Trump isn't America, though Washington still is, George, that is.

What China should do is apologize to Hong Kong, keep their word, reject communism, and embrace unfettered and unbridled capitalism--its the moral thing to do.

And you would do what? Surrender liberty to tyranny? To what end? To prove America isn't great? Very bitter and cynical, isn't it? What struck your soul so hurtfully to make you so mockingly angry?

You know, it wasn't America that betrayed us, it was us that betrayed America when we feed our envy by accepting government's handouts of the created wealth of our betters.

Ayn Rand: "The most profoundly revolutionary achievement of the United States of America was the subordination of society to moral law. The principle of man’s individual rights represented the extension of morality into the social system—as a limitation on the power of the state, as man’s protection against the brute force of the collective, as the subordination of might to right. The United States was the first moral society in history."--http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/america.html

I checked news sources on this claim and only found questionable sources and debunked Russian news propaganda state-sponsored media making this claim. RT News and Sputnik are not trustworthy.

I found this but this is obviously very different, but this is from a reputable, but slightly left-leaning source: https://qz.com/1715719/hong-kong-protesters-defend-their-use-of-nazi-imagery/

If you have this claim made with evidence from Forbes or WSJ, both slightly right-leaning sources that would still be credible if you have those..?

Actually that is democracy defying a communist regime, they don't just open their mouth and let the commies shove something down their throat.

what I refer to is warlord fighting each other for power, and non of them are been recognize as the state power by other countries or so.. for example during china 1900s, they were in state of anarchy, there were at least 2 dozen warlords fighting over power at that time.

As I understand the treaty, whether or not Hong Kong retains self rule or accepts China rule will be open to the vote of the Hong Kong citizens. This is why China wants to crush dissent, extradite the dissenters to China, and set the qualifications for who can and can not run for office.

In other words, they are doing everything they can to stack the cards in their favor, and refusing to consider the only moral option—set Hong Kong free, renounce communist tyranny, and embrace the peace, prosperity, and liberty that capitalism offers.

Look, my problem is that I have a long term memory and can connect different events and situations. I'm an avid reader and even made a hobby of solving historical mysteries, so when I read idiocies in the BBC and the MSM that went contrary to what I know, it began making me sick to my stomach.

I prefer sources that I have found credible, and not the sources that a media tells me is credible - when they themselves have no credibility. That would be stupidity.

Now tell me, do you really expect the MSM to mention a visit by the Nazis in Hong Kong, when the MSM never even admitted they existed?[IMG]

Excuse me Moses, but when did you become the determining factor in what is moral and what is not? :oldman:

The first time I looked at reality and asked, “Why?”

As in: “Why is it right to burn humans at the stake for being witches—The Salem Witch trials? Or: Why is it right for the State (Stalin) to to steal farms and slaughter millions—The Kulaks? Or: Why is right for the state (Hitler) to butcher millions because their thoughts are different (The Jewish people)? Or: Why is it right for the State (FDR) to confiscate property, send one hundred thousand plus American citizens to concentration camps because their skin is yellow? Or: Why is it right for the State (Mao) to commit whole sale rape, destruction of property, and human slaughter simply because they’re peasant farmers? Need more.

Who determines what is moral? Any human soul who uses their reason to come to a conclusion based on the evidence of their senses, the integrations they perform from the information their senses provide, with Man’s life as standard.

Whom am I to judge? A rational man.

My question: What moral principle gives the State the right to enslave and tyrannize? To violate the individual rights of each human being? To tell you what to think, what to do, whom to love, and what values to value? What car to buy, what bulb to burn, what utensils to eat with, what drugs to take, What holidays to celebrate? What moral
principle gives another the right steal from another souls life?

Ayn Rand: “The concept of objectivity contains the reason why the question “Who decides what is right or wrong?” is wrong. Nobody “decides.” Nature does not decide—it merely is; man does not decide, in issues of knowledge, he merely observes that which is. When it comes to applying his knowledge, man decides what he chooses to do, according to what he has learned, remembering that the basic principle of rational action in all aspects of human existence, is: “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.” This means that man does not create reality and can achieve his values only by making his decisions consonant with the facts of reality.

But it’s not me who determines what is moral, reality does that, I just call it as it is.

Excuse me Pontius Pilate, ignoring reality won’t wash the Hong Kong idealists blood off your hands.
You advocate for tyranny, I advocate for liberty. Let reality decide who is right.

Nope. The treaty is that there would be a 1 country 2 systems ... that the socialist system of China would not apply in Hong Kong. That 1 country 2 systems ends after 50 years. In 2047 Hong Kong, according to the treaty, will have same laws as the rest of (mainland) China.

The error you make is the denial of free will in an objective universe.

Because I love life, and that which is necessary for it’s flourishing—liberty, reason, capitalism, morality—I stand with Hong Kong against the vile tyrant, Xi Jinping and his goons, the CPC. It’s the least an honest man can do.

guess HK economy gonna take big hit if this come true... Macao has the same economy/political structure as HK, and it has land to develop given by CCP. if the financial industry start moving from HK to Macao, its big hit for HK economy. Macao GDP per cap $81,000ish some the highest in the world, is already almost twice as HK, . though not sure banking and gambling at the same place would do lol

He said, "Besides, the only anarchy in Hong Kong is the evil that Xi Jinping and the CPC want to inflict upon the Hong Kong individuals, slavery." Note, this is a statement about a future goal, it doesn't describe current Hong Kong as slavery.

Hopefully, the tyrant will be assassinated. That would be good fortune for the liberty of the individual.

well doubt anyone can assassinate Xi, beside they can just put another one up there. also Xi is not the only one running the country, there are at least 25 other high level members which make up the senior leadership in Beijing, xi just happen to be one of them.

I bet if China washes its hands of Hong Kong, Hong Kong will become healthier and wealthier than anything Xi Jinping can create.
