Saw Hereditary recently and . . . meh? Like, the build-up was good, but the ending just got goofy.

You simply can't beat the exorcist or Amityville horror for pure terror.

For just entertainment I've always favored Pumpkinhead.

Don't watch horror movies at all. Enough in real life.

Born in 1986, growing up in a household/homestead with VHS & Betamax and a Blockbuster Card with a huge satellite dish aimed at the Indian ocean for 'Satellite'... - others had 'Cable' which was this cable physically connected to your house, we had a satellite and called Satellite. My family used to somehow/some way be on TV in audiences and as guests.... Back then, and... Yeah, at home, a lot of good tapes and TV...

Growing up I was the infant hiding from the T2 behind the couch at the intro of Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991), loving the rest of it.
Beetlejuice (1988 ) by director Time Burton was one of my favourite movies too, baby, then got in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).
I was the baby who was into Thomas The Tank Engine and The Naughty Lorry (It's what I called Duel 1971).

That movie was filmed around Pittsburg and Youngstown, two scary places.

I went to my uncle's funeral in Pittsburg. His body was in the living room.
The house had TWO cellars. :crossbones::hiding:

Seconded on The Descent. I thought Zombieland was a comedy... doesn't a horror movie have to at least be trying to scare you?
The Relic and Alien/s stick out in my mind as good horror.

Jacob's ladder. A truly great horror movie that is very believable and fascinating. Read about it on Wikipedia.

I think it might be a generational thing but I didn't care for The exorcist. I find demonic possession movies to be of the most scary. One that haunted me for several days was The exorcism of Emily Rose. The lack of special effects aside from a few moments here or there was what made it scary to me. Creepiness my hands-down favorite is ravenous. For concepts I have to go with event horizon, although it wasn't that great of a movie on its own the concept is brilliant.

So a good horror movie would be the thing. The monster in that movie isn't the alien, it's human paranoia. What would you consider good and why?

I'm not a fan, the over reaching concept of them is the idea that Doom is assured, and the prospect of living in a world controlled by the undead is only slightly better than the painful and gruesome death you no doubt will face. They all use this exact concept. The only difference between them is the mechanism for which the zombies were created. Lately it seems the most common plot Device is government involvement and warfare. But I've seen ritual incantations, even extraterrestrial Genesis creating zombies.

The only zombie movies I have ever seen that didn't use this theme was the exquisite original pet cemetery, and the hilarious evil dead.

The zombies were diabolical in evil dead and just blowing their brains out didn't kill them, dismemberment didn't kill them

The most horrifying image I have ever seen was in a book I read. Where a character didn't rise the Dead, but used them as a gruesome Marinette to trick an innocent into believing he wasn't evil. Technically not zombies but the thought of someone animating a corpse to cover up his misdeeds and to trick someone stuck with me. Oddly enough the writer was a romance writer. Makes me wonder how he came up with something so horrifying.

    June = 6th month
    20 + 19 = 39
    9 upside done is 6
    3 x 6 = 6 + 6 + 6

Ha, the irony! You come in peace but create devilish havoc!
