House Democrats Vote to Keep 'God' in Oath After Being Slammed as 'The Party of Karl Marx'

The House Natural Resources Committee voted Wednesday to keep the words "so help you God" in its oath taken by witnesses testifying before the panel.

Committee Chairman Rep. Raul Grijalva says a draft reported on by Fox News was a mistake. It appeared to indicate "so help me God" would be removed from the oath.
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming had blasted Democrats after Fox News reported the oath would be altered saying, "It is incredible, but not surprising. http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politic...-house-democrats-push-to-remove-god-from-oath It’s sad that democrats would even consider taking that out. Their respect for God no longer exists. They had to be publicly shamed into leaving God in the oath.

 

This from the party that booed God at one of their recent national conventions.

 

I think under God should be optional and that people can insert the deity that they believe in if they so choose. I think both the Republicans and Democrats are wrong about this one. The official oath should have no under God, and allow people the choice to add their religious phrase.
