Great news, now even if an out of State conceal carry permit was issued to a domestic violence offender or felon, he/she can now travel and pack in another State where they would be prohibited from ever even owning a gun let alone a conceal carry permit. In other words, bringing it all down to the least common denominator

Good news for the gun manufacturers, bad news for those communities that don't want guns around, and the GOP politicians trade public safety for political contributions. Is it any wonder mass shooting and school shootings are becoming as American as apple pie?

What state allows a felon or domestic violence offender to carry yet alone own a weapon? I just bought a new rifle yesterday and when I filled out form 4473 and having a felony or a domestic violence offense disqualifies you from purchasing a weapon. And when I got my carry permit those offences would also disqualify you from get a permit. So your worry is not needed. So I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Well, sure, I'm happy to see this measure pass, if only to further attempt to insure our 2nd Amendment right to be able to protect ourselves in an increasingly dangerous, violently bestial American society. Nevertheless, I'd predict that the same kind of hyperliberal municipal cesspools that have declared themselves to be "sanctuary cities" will fight any enhancement of the right to bear arms, tooth and nail!

Say you are a citizen of Indiana who has a valid concealed weapons permit. You have driven to Chicago to go to a Cubs baseball game. In a parking lot, you are accosted by a thug who demands your money. Do you really think that a hyperliberal, rabid Democrat like Mayor Rahm Emanuel gives a sh*t whether you are able to defend yourself or not?! You can bet your last dime that a creep like Emanuel and all his sycophants will be lining up obstructionist lawyers all the way to the horizon to make damn sure you can't defend yourself in a city like Chicago... and many others....

First off, no right listed in the Constitution is absolute, and if a particular community would rather not have anything to do with guns why do you think you have a "right" to import your weapon into their State?

Secondly, getting shot in Wrigleyville on the North Side would be rare, your chances are higher at your local mall in Indiana, and why do all you people think Atila the Hun is preparing to attack you? If you are that scared of life stay home, you label these places "cesspools" but it appears you want to visit them, weird

You can always move to Chicago - they have very strict gun laws.

Did you read your link non violent felons and only after they have completed their sentences and probations. And they have to fill to expunge their felony. Do you really not see the difference between violent and non violent offenders, and do you not believe in giving people a second chance who have paid for and completed their sentences and probation.

The right to own guns is an individual right. Like free speech, it can't be infringed upon by the state, county or city. What if a particular community chose not to have any people of color in it?
What right would a person of color have to "import" themselves into that city or state?
The majority doesn't always rule and you can't as a group take another person's rights away from them by a show of hands.
If the chances of getting shot is rare, then you shouldn't have a problem with me owning a gun.

I was going to respond to the post by 'archives' but you have already done so and I can't improve on what you've said. Indeed, the 2nd Amendment doesn't say anything about how it does not apply to any city or state in the United States of America that wants to "opt out'.

This is the part of the powers of a central government that liberals don't like (when it suits them not to like it). Then, suddenly, they're as independent-minded as those people who wanted to form the Confederate States of America! . What a paradox! But that's what the liberal mind is -- a morass of confused reasoning, and situation-ethics tyranny....

Look, we as a society made peace with endless gun death long ago. These are nonevents whereby the public participates in the denial thereof with Pavlovian displays of faux hand wringing and flag half staffing for a couple of days, then we move on to the next event only to once again feign that we as a society think this is a problem.

Your society is none of the above, many of us recognized and accepted that decades ago, others of you have yet to make the journey out of the state indoctrinated darkness.

It is regrettable that we have so much crime in the U. S. today. Our police forces are so over-tasked, understaffed, and under-funded that so often now when a person calls "911" to report a crime or an emergency requiring the police -- FAST -- he gets rolled to a voice recording saying that "all the operators are busy" and telling the caller to leave a message. Then, even after you go through all of that, it is not uncommon for it to take an hour or more before a police officer responds to a caller's emergency.

That is part of why so many of us are absolutely adamant that we have unrestricted access to firearms and ammunition, and to have the constitutional right to defend ourselves from criminals!

Think: what are you going to do when some of 'da boyz in da 'hood' come to invade your home, rape your wife, kill you, and steal everything you own? What are you going to do when you're walking down the street, minding your own business, and some thug bastard decides that he's going to play "the knockout game" on YOU...? If the police can't control these creatures, then we, the people, have to... or just roll over and let these vicious monsters do whatever they like to us.... Not moi!

Why are people who are anti-gun so ignorant of the subject that they don't even know that:

    a) A convicted domestic advisor cannot legally purchase or be in possession of a firearm
    b) A felon cannot legally purchase or be in possession of a firearm

You should take 5 minutes and Google easily answered questions before you run in circles screaming over stuff you clearly don't understand.

    Of course, I must be afraid of the negroes. You are much more likely to need your little gun for these guys;

found not guilty of second-degree murder and reckless manslaughter by a Maricopa County jury on Thursday, the Arizona Republic reports. It was posted online by the attorney for Shaver’s wife, Laney Sweet, who is suing the Mesa Police Department for $75 million and had been fighting for the release of the video.

You can watch the video below. The shooting occurs just after the 16-minute mark of the video.

I add the first part is hardly worth watching -- pick it up at 6:30 on Video.

Wrong, once again, no Constitutional right is absolute, you need proof, we have had gun laws just as we have laws restricting free speech for over two hundred years now

    Oh for.....

Yeah, if they go through a few years of trying to get their rights back and all of the cost and money that entails IF the judge feels like they've been rehabilitated and ONLY IF IT WAS A NONVIOLENT FELONY.

If that happens, they're NO LONGER A FELON.

This is the same bull**** from the 80's when Florida started issuing CCW licences.

The only result is that they found out that people with a CCW are the most law abiding segment of society, and commit fewer crimes in every category.

All those pictures of Lincoln and all and your still wrong

I don't know how many times I have to educate conservatives on this, but NO right in the Constitution is absolute, even Scalia emphasized such in his opinion in the Heller case, States have always had restrictions on guns, speech, press, whatever right you can come up with, again, no right is absolute, they can all be regulated legally

Yes, it is probably a good idea not to be reaching down toward possible unknown threats in your pants when you have been instructed to do exactly what the police tell you to do -- no more, and no less. Do you know how easy it is to conceal a pistol in a waistband, or in a pocket?

But, this unfortunate situation really doesn't have anything to do with a citizen's right to bear arms, and, as I said, self-defense is a strong motivation for many of us, whether the assailant(s) are"negroes" or not.... Vicious, violent criminals come in all colors, although some groups do commit more violent crimes, per capita, than others....
