Maybe it's time to play the DNC game and start filing lawsuits and hope with a conservative SCOTUS, we can win.

No, No he doesn't.... He also doesn't care about taking those guns either.... Can you say the same about that last clown that sat in the White House? He sure did jump on the gun snatching wagon every time he got in front of a crowd.

Indeed - every chance He had, He bathed in the blood of innocent children and demanded a ban on 'assault weapons'.

Quite true, within less than a week after the Pulse night club shooting in Orlando he was pushing for an Assault Weapon ban.

"The White House is stepping up its efforts to renew the assault weapons ban, while trying to boost separate gun control measures that the Senate plans to vote on next week."

"Obama has long supported the ban, but he has been increasingly vocal about it in recent days, condemning the easy access to “weapons of war” like the Sig Sauer MCX that Omar Mateen used to kill many people at close range. But until Friday’s announcement, it was unclear whether his administration would do anything more substantial to mobilize for a ban."

There is no such thing, reasonable to the anti's is total confiscation, they understand they cannot do that in one step so they work on it incrementally with the same goal.

Dingy Harry Reid didn't want to lose his position as SML-he remembered 1994. So he figured he wouldn't let Feinswine's wet dream make it to the floor of the senate

Blanket opposition to gun control is unreasonable and unethical.

Wow! And any form of gun control is Un-American, Un-Patriotic and Totalitarian.
I can label too though I'm not sure we will get anywhere doing that.

I see very few arguments here or anywhere that address what I see as the real issues with guns, gun owners and those who see a need for gun control or more gun control.

The real issue is this: Arms (which would include modern firearms) are a Constitutional guarantee. Bottom line that should be the end of the discussion.

A read of that old document is quite enlightening though. It shows The Founding Fathers were smart guys who were ahead of their time. The Bill of Rights that these gentlemen came up with is something. It guaranteed them and the people of the United States rights which they had not had under British rule. They were well aware of why these rights were important and they also new how to hang onto these new rights.

That is where the Second Amendment comes in. It is not about hunting or target shooting or plinking tin cans with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. It was about individuals keeping arms to protect themselves and their families from those who would harm or rob. But most importantly the Second Amendment is about preventing tyranny.

So I guess I disagree with you. I don't feel blanket opposition to gun control is unreasonable or unethical. I think it Patriotic! That's the nice thing about the civilian populace having guns in this country; it gives us the opportunity to give our opinions and disagree with each other here in public. Isn't that wonderful?

So when you choose to use your First Amendment right and respond to this post, just remember it's because people like me own firearms and don't believe in gun control that you have that right.

True. And many of those countries would not exist today if it were not for the United States and their guns.

True again. But lets be clear that I wouldn't want to live in a country where only the military and/or government had control of the guns.
Also, remember that many American civilians sent arms to help defend Great Britain.

I wouldn't either. You can have guns and gun control. Lots of countries do

The US Supreme Court has already recognized the legitimacy of gun control.

True again. I still have this nagging little voice in the back of my small brain that says gun control is the first step to gun confiscation. Guns are "controlled" by taking peoples names when they buy and/or sell guns. When peoples names and address are written down in connection with firearms does that then target (excuse the pun) them to be the first on the list if/when someone does decide to come for their guns?
