Well anyway, I have used a lot of horse manure, goat manure, rotten hay, pine straw, and wood chips. Any of those things could have persistent herbicides. The stuff is used for hay fields and pass right through the animal. And I have seen damage.

I am in agreement that this could be the problem. A couple years ago, my compost pile was running low, and on my drive to work, I spotted a huge number of clear garbage bags filled with leaves set out for the trash. So I stopped and loaded them all in my truck. Got home and started dumping them in the compost, then got the bright idea to use them as mulch around the tomato plants - spread them all around, and it all looked great.

It rained a day later, and then the next day, most of the plants were exhibiting crinkled and shriveled up leaves. Only thing I can figure is that those leaves came out of a yard that had been sprayed with weed killer or something and then I put it into my garden.

One year I was going to use hay as mulch, stopped at the feed store, told them I needed cheap hay for mulching plants, the owner said that may not be the best idea since the hay probably had traces of herbicide in it.

Now, I put all that kind of stuff in my compost for at least a year before I use it. Them compost microbes can decompose just about anything if you give them some time.

The stuff is a broadleaf killer and if an animal eats it it goes right through him. So even using manure from your own animals is risky.

My neighbors have horses, I sometimes get the manure. It gets mixed into the compost pile for a year or two before I use it.

I let my garden sit for a year. I am going to use wood chips for mulch and rotten hay to plant watermelon in.

All the welding is finally done. Exception of the seat and handlebar and the one brake, on the back wheel. It's flat around here and the brake is a cantilever? Pulls equal from top, dead center. Next best brake to a disc. The brake on each front wheel (like the first build) is really not necessary if the back brake is strong and maintained.

Another angle. DSCN0284.JPG I'm considering building a dedicated, bicycle camper next. A trailer that would be 42 inches wide and 7 and a half long. Think covered wagon, ultra light. Regular tow bike but with a welded hitch, very strong and large range of motion.

In a bug out scenario or for the homeless, it would be very ideal. Or just some bike camping, something like this but as light as possible. upload_2020-4-7_1-44-10.jpeg nice use of chloroplast but to small IMO upload_2020-4-7_1-44-57.jpeg [IMG] < that's more like it but needs more ventilation

A tuk tuk, a rickshaw. A bit of steampunk.

If our world ever goes back to normal, maybe a trailer with a key mower and weed whacker and blower, or an ice cream trike? Hot dog bike? The possibilities are only limited by your vision. Welding is like magic. Our world would fall to pieces, without it.

No, it is picloram and other persistent herbicides. Kills broadleaf weeds and stays effective much longer. Vegetable damage can last 3 years. 3ppm is all it takes. If hay is sprayed the herbicide goes right through the animal. So manure can pose risks. If you buy hay you could bring it in the animals manure.

I decided to adapt two of the toilets to have bidet options. Given the old plumbing needed to be replaced under the sink that took me longer than anticipated. Then I had to put that project on hold once I started experiencing mild symptoms. Plumbing is one my least favorite handyman tasks and doing it while not feeling well was not going to end well for the plumbing. Starting to feel better now so I will get back to it by the weekend or next week. After that I am going to re-channel the rain water to cover some of the dry areas that could use some more water. The grey water system under the lawn that I did last year has produced awesome results so I am hoping for something similar with the rain water project.

Found this nice bar stool discarded on the block behind me, they tossed it due to the welds between the top and base, being broken. Was easy to fix. We need a decent chair for company, otherwise I would knock on their door and say "remember the stool yall threw out for broken welds? It's now good as new (well, even better since the chintzy ass welds, wont break) For 15$ it can be yours again, lol. Looks like it cost maybe 80$ ? It rotates DSCN0288.JPG

Hope you feel better. Two of my least favorite things are messing with electricity and roofs, both are very unforgiving. Roofing is a job you point at and say "stay in school, son".

Here in SW Fl, I had 4 plants last season. I had more tomatoes than you can shake a stick at. Must plant in the fall. I also made a greenhouse off the south wall of the house. I tied into the block wall. It was a simple lean to, 7 ft out and 7ft wide.

By pleading with the right wing, to not ignore the health of their countrymen, and stay away from fun, and games. Hoping that the
right wing takes things serious, instead of the usual hoax, fake news, and vicious ridicule of folks that care.

You must be much younger than me.. I the Tonka Toys I had 55 years ago are still intact.. somewhere..

I am coming in just two days a week, something I have long wanted to institute.. and Ms. Hernandez coming in to pay her bill makes these two days well worth it!

BTW, Ms. Hernandez would not look out of place if seen in Dublin Ireland... a lot of Irish migrated to Northern Mexico back in the day.

Absolutely all welding done, except the handlebar, cross member (and maybe a foot rest, if needed) Seat is easily removable and a fish net / cargo net of 550 paracord, is next. What an evolution from that yellow trailer in the background, built it 8 years ago. It served us well and I have put 400 pounds on it, once. But it is no longer safe for her, a stroke took most other left arm, use in summer of 2017.
