I was talking with my wife about Amazon deliveries the other day because we are seeing an increase in packages being stolen off of the front porches of homes in our neighborhood. The question came up.....how do people in apartments that have no porch receive packages? I assume they don't just stack them in the hall way in front of your door or outside in front of your door. Wanting to find a way to order from Amazon, but make sure my packages are there when I get home. Thanks for the information.
Th UPS or FedEx guy puts it on my porch or inside the house or my shop if the weather is bad. Live in the country and do not bother locking my doors. Not even sure where my house keys are, have not ever used them. Did have my dog steal one package, but other than that no issues.
For some people though that is not an option. I know a few employers that feel like paying people to handle private packages is not what they were hired for so it is not allowed.
OP As someone who lives in a flat, I can answer that: because my next-door neighbour has mobility difficulties I asked Amazon to instruct its carrier to NOT buzz her if I happen to be out, but rather deliver on another day. This was ignored, so what I do now where possible is buy from Ebay using their Click&Collect facility. Sorted!!??
I live in a rural area, but just down the road from a school. I have a metal "job box" just outside my gate, chained to a fence post for deliveries. UPS guy puts packages in there for me. I leave a padlock for him. When I get home and see the lock on the box, I know there has been a delivery. You can always instruct UPS to hold your delivery at their facility and go pick it up.
